let me ask:

who is a better right winger than Bentley? honestly? Quaresma is what i like to call a "youtube player" - looks good with some dramatic music in the background and countless effects/edits, but hasnt really proved himself on the big stage and, more importantly, in England...same goes for all the other foreign players being touted on here...

Bentley is a deadly set piece taker/crosser and that will give us atleast another 10 points a season in my opinion.

Bring the lad in!

I can name loads of players better than bentley but not for the money I expect us to be spending this summer.

There were some Rafa quotes about him in one of yesterday's papers:

While terse on the issue of Crouch's futuer, Benitez was surprisingly candid on press reports linking Blackburn's David Bentley to his club.
"He is a good player, we know this, an international player. Of course it is very early to talk of which players we shall look to pursue in the summer, but I have been very impressed with Bentley, yes, and if you ask me do I think he is a good player then the answer is also yes."

People keep going on about him being "affordable".

Surely Blackburn haven't got another good player with a cheap-as-chips clause written into the contract like Bellamy?

How much would he go for?

Quaresma hasn't done it at the top level but Bentley has? I tell you what, put both of them on the market tomorrow at £12m and let's see the which clubs head for which queue. By all means tout Bentley as the cost effective purchase or the one more suited to the English game (although buying Torres over Darren Bent should have have shut some people up by now) but to make ridiculous comments about the top level is a tad silly.

I have said it 100 times, until Quaresma comes to England and is doing well here noone will realise that he is another Torres in the making.
