Re: DIC, final offer?
i hope DIC dont give into unreasonable demands by these greedy cunts, i'd just walk away if i were them and then review the situation when they're refinancing next year and when they have to raise the money and build the stadium (the planning application has a period in which they have to start, so far fuck all has been done and will likely never be done)
it will also give us a chance to try and get The Takeover Panel to review the situation, the circumstances of the takeover and the promises made at the time. in theory, they have the power to reverse it and enforce the decision through the courts meaning we could run them out of town if we lobby the government

Re: DIC, final offer?
I think planning permission stands for five years, RJFC will confirm. I don't know if the five years runs from the Parry Bowl or the Bent Steel Fantasy Arena, but I'm sure it's five years.

If G and H want to amend their agreement then they just amend it.
There would then be a new shareholders agt between hicks and DIC dealing with things like voting rights, new investment, distributions and what happens if they can't agree on something (it would not be as simple as hicks deciding just because he has 51%).

Re: DIC, final offer?
Not sure what impact this has with Hicks but looks like the US Economy is in the shit and Hicks will struggle to get any loans in the near future.
The US has entered its first full-blown economic recession in 16 years, according to investment bank Merrill Lynch.
Merrill, itself one of Wall Street's biggest casualties of the sub-prime crisis, is the first major bank to declare that a recession in the world's biggest economy is now underway.
David Rosenberg, the bank's chief North American economist, argues that a weakening employment picture and declining retail sales signal the economy has tipped into its first month of recession.
Mr Rosenberg, who is well-respected on Wall Street, argues: "According to our analysis, this [recession] isn't even a forecast any more but is a present day reality."
His comments are the strongest sign yet that the gloom on Wall Street over the US economy is deepening as the sub-prime mortgage crisis and the credit rout show little sign of easing.
Looks like the credit crunch is really biting America but DIC have openyl said the credit crunch doesnt affect them one bit.

I think the credit crunch is why hicks and gillett are playing hardball because they know this represents their last big pay deal for sometime.
dic should threaten to pull out of the deal to see how the yanks react.

Re: DIC, final offer?
If I ask someone to sum it up will the reply involve the words 'ongoing' or 'imminent' by any chance?

Probably, yes, but today has mainly been a lesson in percentage. 1-51%.
