Surely it's not that simple? What financial institution (apart from Northern Rock) is going to give him a loan like that? He struggled to get what he's got now. Wouldn't he need a financial partner to do this?

He has about 16 months to find a new partner, if of course he needs one, plenty of time!

it is, hicks has first option and as such just had to wait for dic to make a bid, DIC where never going to bid over the odds so he just had to match the figure so now gillett has the choice of selling to hicks (who has first option) or keeping the shares in his pocket.
its over.

Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
at least one good thing will come out of hicks owning us, moores will be removed from the board and stripped of his privillges in regards to getting free games, if it were up to me that cunt wouldn't be allowed to step foot inside anfield again.

I found the "Atleast one owner has come out of dreamland" bit very interesting.
May be DIC have an agreement in priciple for Gillett's stake? Hence may be the statement from Ansari.

Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
so once this deal is secured and hicks refinances the loan in a year (and he will) he would have secured liverpool with liverpool fans footing the bill.
I don't think its possible moores could have found a WORSE invester if he tried.
WE will pay for him (hicks) to own us.
WE will found players and wages
WE will found the stadium
FUCK OFF MOORES YOU FAT FUCKING CUNT!!!

Hicks can pretty much refuse any sale of shares.
What i dont get, is that even if Hicks gathers the capital, couldnt Gillett just give him the big middle finger and not sell?
can't imagine him doing that, as he would see a nice profit for his non-work

Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
last but not least a round of applause for all the 'sources' who claimed the deal with the dic was 'done' top information there lads and right on the money, I eargly await the tranfer 'scoops' in the summer I'm sure those predictions will be equally accurate.

Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
Surely Hicks can't afford to buy out Gillett? If he could then I'm sure he already would have, especially if he has first refusal on the shares?
If Hicks is putting a value on his 50% then I think he's interested in selling, he just wants to make as much money out of it as possible. Hopefully he'll realise that DIC won't pay his asking price and he'll be left with no alternative but to lower it.

Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
With the amount of debt we are about to get, I think it's fair to say we won't have enough funds to compete for the title in the years to come. On top of that we're getting rid of Rafa, so there goes our chance of anything in Europe as well.
