Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
Is it possible that DIC could be looking at buying into Hicks Sports Group so therefore Hicks gets to keep his grubby mitts on Liverpool and would have the cash to buy us 100%.

No, and Hicks has already thought of that by refusing to offer these shares publically. Otrherwise DIC could fuck him up.

Re: DIC takeover a done deal?
The Game (the times) podcast, and balague is over in dubai at the moment meeting "with the people who want to buy Liverpool to find out what's going on"
The latest information coming to Marcotti was that DIC have made a final take it or leave it offer and given him till the end of the week (didn't say which day that is classed as) to accept it, and in their words "he'd better accept it this time or we're off for good"
they then speculated (as they have no one meeting anyone in the Hicks camp) that Hicks would probably just laugh at them as they said that last time so won't take them seriously.
Seems like this could be a pivotal week.

Anyone got any sources to comment on this?
Also in the Mail just updated.
Meanwhile, Tom Hicks moved a step closer to sole control of Liverpool after securing the funds needed to buy out co-owner George Gillett. The Anfield power battle between Hicks and Dubai International Capital could be resolved in the next week

Re: DIC, final offer?
The problem with DICs interest is that, in itself, it drives up the price. If DIC had stayed away for the past year, Im sure G&T would have been shitting their diapers when the refinancing was looking dodgy. Enter stage left, on their white charger, Im sre they'd have driven home an excellent deal.
While Id be glad to have DIC on board, their understanding of the way things works does worry me. They stropped off last time, when an extra 15m would have the whole thing sewn up and now they are artificially inflating the price by constantly hanging around making offers. If you want us lads, you gotta pay themarket rate, thats how the free market works.

Re: DIC, final offer?
well that's that then. my only consolation is I didn't get excited with the dic interest becuase it was too good to be true and things too good to be true usually aren't.

Re: DIC, final offer?
Well DIC must be thick twats if they think a second 'take it or leave it' offer will work! It didnt with moores so I dont see why they think it would with Hicks (and Gillet if he's still about).
I had a nagging doubt at the back of my mind when everyone was jumping on the 'DIC will save use' number that it wasnt going to be plain sailing.
Despite all the rumours of 'its a done deal' etc, etc, I've never been really convinced its got any further than talks between the two camps. I dont think DIC will buy us and think Hicks is hear to stay for a while.

Re: DIC, final offer?
We're reaching the end, one way or the other. We'll either get bailed out by DIC or we'll be stuck with Hicks and get driven into the ground. I've been confident all along we'd be OK and DIC would buy but my optimism is fading hourly. I just hope this is big business talk to put pressure on fat head. That's all we can do now, hope.
Thanks, DM.
