Coop, on Rawk a couple of posters have alluded Miskelly and Dubai working together on this takeover, is that a possibility?

Dubai dont need extra investment to be able to afford to buy Liverpool but they have indicated before that they want the controlling interest in the club with a possible 30-40% going to outside investment.
This could allow Miskelly to come onboard and with him been a fan would it be a bad thing.

End of January is the deadline but that can be extended until June if the owners make a request to the banks (and no reason to think they wont)
In the meantime questions of funding for the stadium will need to be answered at the start of October.
In essesnce they're going to have show people the colour of their money sooner rather then later ......... money that as of yet they dont have

Next month should pose a few questions as regards funding for the stadium as iirc the end of September is when the owners had to show proof that they could fund the stadium to then qualify for grants toward the build.
As regards the refinance i dont know the exact timeframe on that but isn't it early next year when we start all over again regards the refinance.

The other option that the current owners have is not to build a new stadium.

I think they'll HAVE to sell once the stadium falls through in October.

The new stadium was the big draw for the owners so without that Liverpool no longer seem to be as much as an attractive proposition to them.

Exactly, that is the only real way they have of increasing the money coming in. If they didn't do that, their money would be just sat in the club.

There lies the problem RIS they do not have any money in the club, it is all debt.

OK, but you can still call it their investment. the money, whether it is actually theirs or not, is still tied up in Liverpool.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
The grants are now so small compared to total cost now. When it was going to cost 80mill 8 or 9 mill was a BIG part of cost now its just 3%.
We have fucked about so long to get these grants its cost £200m in extra costs.
Good work boys.

Is right. The contribution of these 'grants' is now very small in the overall scheme of this. The trouble is, the 'influence' the bodies that give them will have not ie they will still shout as loud contributing 3% of the total costs as they would if contributing something in the region of 10%.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
The NWDA grants are worth about £9 million but looking from a point of view of not getting them then is that £9 million less for the transfer fund.
Like RIS put the Stadium is the big money spinner with a larger capacity meaning more bums on seats spending more on food/drinks and merchandise plus the corporate events were to be a big money spinner as well but if the new stadium was not to go ahead then the owners profit margin would take a huge knock.
Like its been put in the Daily Post DIC are not interested in Man City and like they have said they are only interested in Liverpool but whilst people will say 'why dont they just buy the club' you have to remember they are an investment firm and will wait whilst the owners get even more desperate.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
The money that the grants are worth are no small change to the Yanks, they can't afford to not get it, but they can't afford to start the stadium so they're fucked either way.
Didn't DIC say that they didn't care about not getting the grants?

Like you say £9 million to our current owners is a lot of money when you have not got any to start with.
An investment company the size of DIC would not need the grant of NWDA but im sure would accept it if offered.

Yep, just another piece of evidence which proves the quite eye wateringly humungous incompetence of Moores and Parry.
