Re: DIC: takeover thread
The more burning question the Yanks should ask themselves is if DIC wont buy LFC who will.
who else would buy the club for 350m and spend 350m on a new stadium when Utd was sold for less is a bigger brand name and making 4 times as much profit. would you invest 700m for a return of 30m PA and thats before you´ve added any profit on for the americans
Id love to know there exit strategy and who they think will buy the club if DIC didnt because I cant think of anyone who´d pay over 750m to buy the club and we could be stuck with these assholes for a very long time who would then be servcing 700m worth of debt frightning shit

Re: DIC: takeover thread
I think the way Hicks sees it, is if he can hang on and get the stadium built then the club will massively increase in value, and if all the costs are on the bank and not from his account then he will double his initial investment with nearly no personal financial input.. He is also aware that even if we are sitting in 10th place that the loyalty of the Liverpool support means that the stadium will still be full.

Zabeel Investments incl. Mohammed Al Hashimi, executive chairman were part of the Dubai Consortium interested in buying LFC.
So did you get upset when a consortium including Zabeel Investments and Dubai International Capital failed to buy Liverpool Football Club?
Yes, but at the end of the day another opportunity always comes along. We move on… very simple. I am always asked if I'm still going to buy a football club or something like that, but I say 'I'm more than happy now to sit in front of the TV and watch my team with some close friends'.

DIC, it seems, are happy to buy us for £400m and then fund a stadium at £350m, so whats the difference with them spending £750m now, or later when the stadium is built?

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Im glad its gone quiet as personally i think thats a good thing.
I know Gillett had personal problems which have now been sorted and as far as im aware he is all for selling but dont go thinking he is whiter then white as he as made sure he has done well out of the deal to make sure he will only sell to Dubai.
Hicks is still in conversation with Dubai as far as i know and if thats the case then hopefully they can come to some agreement.
Timescale wise no-one knows and whose to say Hicks wont walk away from the talks again.
In the words of Rick Parry 'can you sit tight and wait'.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Tbh, we haven't heard anything new in weeks, so we can perhaps assume that the case is pretty much closed. They may not be the best of mates anymore, but they seem to be co-operating at least. As much as I hate to say it, I've got a feeling that the yanks are going to stick around longer than we seem to hope and expect.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
I don't think anything has changed with regard the owners (lack of) relationship. You can bet if it had, they'd be all over the papers cuddling.
Was there not something about the "right to buy" expiring at the end of May?

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Hasn't Parry got a clause in his contract stating that his position is secure for 2 years if there is a takeover?

Lets try and put this in some form of perspective here. I dont think Abramovic has spent 750m on players and buying the club but now they have a better team than us.
