Hopefully Tom Hicks will soon come to his senses and sell his share of Liverpool but at the moment there is no set time when thats likely to happen.

In a lot of peoples eyes they know how much the Sheikh is worth and just wonder why he does not make Tom Hicks a massive offer for the club to make him walk away but its not as simple as that.

First and foremost any take over of the club is purely business and how owning Liverpool would benefit Dubai.

As we all know Liverpool are well under marketed and there is a lot more money to be made from Liverpool then we are currently making which is the reason such a person like Tom Hicks is reluctant to let go of an asset such as us.

The problem here with Liverpool is you have to specualte to accumalate and Tom Hicks does not have the money available to buy Gillett's shares, build a new stadium and allow the manager sufficient funds to be able to mount a title challenge.

Hicks is desperate to obtain the money to be able to own Liverpool outright and its common knowledge that he has more or less done a world tour in a bid to find investment and although i dont know the ins and outs of the deal Hicks is trying to put together from what im told his proposed financial structure is like a house of cards and could practically destroy Liverpool Football Club if things did not work out EXACTLY how they have projected them to.

Gillett and Hicks are in contact with representatives from Dubai Holdings and as it was widely reported Gillett had a meeting with them last Friday whilst Hicks had already had a meeting with Dubai Holdings previous to this.

The reason i keep saying Dubai Holdings and not DIC is because if we are taken over i fully expect it to be under the ownership of Dubai Holdings which is the holding company of DIC.

As ive explained before the reason for this is because DIC are the investment arm of Dubai Holdings but also have shareholders who will expect a return from the investment into Liverpool. As ive already explained to purchase Liverpool and allow the manager money for transfers is going to towards £1 billion pounds which DIC would need to show some sort of short term return for this expenditure.

This would look bad for any future business ventures if DIC were seen to be paying a high premium for an asset which although will give them a profit over time the actual amount of profit is nowhere near what they would achieve elsewhere.

Whilst under the ownership of Dubai Holding they wouldnt be under such constraints and therefore can take a longer term view of making money from Liverpool.

At the end of the day that is what the deal is about and dont fool yourself into thinking that Dubai Holding are interested in buying Liverpool because the Sheikh is a Liverpool fan and therefore will lavish us with millions to sign all the top players with because that is not the case.

If the take over is sucessful then it will be of benefit of Dubai make no mistake about that but it will also be of benefit to Liverpool FC as we would be able to get the stadium built asap and although Rafa wouldnt be able to go on a Chelsea like spending spree he would still have the money available for top players if he so wished.

Money would be available for Rafa if top players become available but we would not start spending money like a drunken sailor as Abramovich did but in all fairness we dont need that kind of cash injection anyway.

I wouldn't want LFC to be run like Chelsea where we bought players to stop rival clubs from getting players. We don't need to spend hundreds of millions on the team. We aren't too far away.

As a business plan it makes sense to say buy 3 30m players that would make the jump to compete with the best then cut back and tell the manager he can have one of those type of players a year and to start using all the assets already at the club

The answer was in response to what would happen if DIC bought the business and then it makes perfect sense once they have 100% belief in the manager to spend that sort of money which is another debate entirely

Maybe but its pretty much unprecedented. Even if they do buy us, I'd be very surprised to see it happen.
