The appointment of a new PR firm will mean Hicks is planning another media blast so i would fully expect to see more stories coming out from him shortly.

Have Freud Communications actually agreed to represent Hicks then? All I'd heard was that they were just in discussion.

He's pretty much damaged goods, it's like being employed to redeem Heather Mills PR image. They'll take he money but privatley probably know it's pissing in the wind.

Coop if you were a betting man how would you see this one panning out? Surely GG will sell to DIC soon.

No sorry mate i meant the fact he is seeking a new PR team means he is preparing to make some more statements

Im not a betting man mate but one thing i do know for certain and that is Dubai Holdings want a quick resolution on this as they feel the longer it drags out the more damage will be done to the club.
If given the opportunity Dubai Holdings would buy the club 100% as soon as the phonecall was made by Hicks to sell.

I wonder if the PR firm's brief might be to minimise the damage to his reputation when he sells, rather than help him to gain full control. He's insisted time and again that he's in the for long haul and won't sell, so if he does sell soon he's going to have his work cut out to avoid looking weak and unreliable to other clubs he might want to buy in the future.

From what I understand he's looking to go on the offensive big time.

Coop - can we assume that if there is no resolution this summer that DIC might say fuck off and walk away?

In all fairness im amazed they are still interested.
I know Dubai Holdings/DIC takeover strategy does not go beyond this summer and if they havent got at least 50% of the club then i would expect them to walk away.
Who knows if they would return if Hicks struggles with the refinance when its due again as i dont think they were expected to return last time after Moores and Parry messed them about so you can never say they would 100% walk away.

If DIC walk away then they will never own the club, in my opinion. Cause if they do GG will have little option but to do a deal with Hicks.

Umm, If there is actually a deadline for Hicks to be able to buy GG out as per the agreement between them, then surely we should have the answer soon enough....
Ideally it should be done before the transfer frenzy gets wild so that we can pursue our number 1 targets...
