I think DIC will get in sooner rather than later... I really want to know how fans will react to a government that doesn't allow certain country citizens and religions in as owners of LFC?
E.g. Yossi Benayoun was refused entry only 18 months ago.

Couldn't give a fuck.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Real Red's agenda is the welfare of Liverpool Football Club not some shitty little points scoring exercise.

yes, but it wasn't his fault. They had left it balanced on the arm of the sofa. Anyway, he didn't break it, the batteries just fell out and now have to be held in with sellotape.

The article is very speculative the way I read it.

It seems that the rating companies are having a hard time analysing the economic state of Dubai due to advanced financial vehicles, but that doesn't necesarily (sp?) mean, that the economy is bad.
As far as I know, the country - or the Sheikh - has vast cash ressources, but I could be wrong. I don't think this article mentions anything about that.
And the thing about Dubai being less dependent of oil than the other gulf states is - if what I've read about it earlier is correct - down to the fact that Dubai has been the most progressive state in getting away from petrodollar addiction.
The way I read this article, it expresses a concern about the state of Dubais economy in the event of a prolonged or worsened financial crisis or a full scale regional war, but that is a concern that would probably apply for most countries.
I could be wrong though as I'm by no means a financial expert.

"Or if people stope going to Dubai on Holiday"
Bit like saying "if Liverpool get relegated, attendances will drop"
Probably true but unlikely to happen any time soon.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Since when did having an opinion equate with "having an agenda"?
RR is completely correct in having doubts about DIC and posting any snippets which might throw light on their intentions. I'm very wary of them - just as I was wary of the yanks. No owner is to be trusted until he's earned it by actions over a reasonable period of time.
Having said that, I find it next to impossible to imagine how being owned by anyone else could possibly be worse than being owned by the current clowns.

right, so you're wary of DIC, big deal
what should we do because YOUR wary of DIC? stay like we are with Hicks and G? in which case, we go bankrupt and get taken over the banks, deducted 10 points in the league, have to sell our best players and then sold on to someone else who wants to make a quick buck, all the time no new stadium and this is because you're wary of some apparently well funded group who have pesistantly shown an interest in owning the club
fact is there's no alternative to DIC and it doesn't matter whether you're wary of them or not.
