Re: DIC: takeover thread
Can't believe someone who knew fuck all about LFC this time last year and had to read the pages from "Internet" to know about "Liverpool Reds" has got more power than anyone else associated with the club, one year on.
Moores you cunt.

Listening to that again and Parry must know whats going off or at least have an idea and he seems to think something will happen one way or another shortly.

Is "shortly" longer than "imminently"?

Re: DIC: takeover thread
If you download that interview there is more about Liverpool at around the 25:30 minute mark when they talk to Tommy Smith.

Don't think anything is finalised yet. Don't think anyone (including Gillett, Hicks and DIC) know how it is going to finish.

Five live have been spot on, just because there has been twist and turns doesnt make them wrong, from the outset they have said DIC want in, the yanks out. And that conclusion is heading near.

Lets hope so.
I just cannot believe that that we have allowed 2 individuals to takeover over the club, and yet we have paid for that purchase. We have gone from a very manageable debt of £20m to £350m in leass than 12 months. Madness.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
While there may not have been a legal set deadline for Hicks to buy Gillett's shares, I think it's fair to say that a reasonable time has passed for Hicks to complete the deal - and Gillett was making this known.
Personally I think the hold up is DIC no longer considering only the initial 50% share.
Hicks has shown (again) these last few weeks/months what an utterly shameless prick he is, and I think DIC would be embarrassed to enter into partnership with someone like that.
Even if DIC could force him out eventually, he would not go quietly and I don't think DIC would want to harm their reputation in the meantime.
So even though Gillett has probably agreed to sell and is possibly legally able to do so, nothing will happen until 100% is available to DIC, IMO.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Rick Parry's well aware that whoever takes over he's out on his ear.
I expect he gets a pay-off when that happens, the equivalent of what his wages and bonuses would have been up until a certain date, probably two years from the original takeover.
He just wants the money now. Chances are he's already got a job lined up at the FA after being head-hunted for his ability to be incompetent and out of touch with supporters.

Re: DIC: takeover thread
Crisis talks in Liverpool power struggle
By Jeremy Wilson
Last Updated: 1:56am BST 31/03/2008
Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are due to meet, along with a representative from Dubai International Capital, in the boardroom of the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
It is understood that it will be the first time that all three parties have shared the same room, meaning that the drama on the pitch of the Champions League quarter-final between Arsenal and Liverpool could be surpassed by tensions off it.
DIC remain optimistic that they can still launch a successful takeover and yesterday there were signs that the Liverpool power struggle was moving into its final phase. It has emerged that the pressure on Hicks may heighten in the coming weeks due to the possible need for him to refinance other assets. Market sources predict that the pressure of the global credit crunch could well force Hicks' hand.
Hicks has so far refused to do business unless he can retain a controlling stake but Gillett has now made it clear that he will not sell to his partner.
Gillett does, however, regard DIC as "very responsible" possible owners and last week admitted to a Canadian radio station that his relationship with Hicks had been "unworkable for some time".
Liverpool chief executive Ricky Parry has urged some sort of swift resolution. "My plea i | |
