Re: DIC, final offer?

Hicks needs DIC on board for him to continue to use LFC as a cash cow.

Wasn't it this Stavely character that opened her gob rather than Hicks?

If you're going to try and force someone to do something they don't want to do wait until you own part of the club before running your mouth about it.

DIC are playing a game. They want full control and are trying to rattle Hicks.

If that's DIC's game then it's shit.

Hicks is painted as a stubborn, arrogant loud mouthed Texan. DIC are shouting the odds about getting 49% and then forcing Hicks to sell his shares.

What do you think is the easiest way for Hicks to stop that happening?

Re: DIC, final offer?

DIC will never take 49%. Period.

£200,000,000 for 50% and a chance of strong-arming Hicks out or £200,000,000 for 49% and having ZERO control over your investment? Only a moron would chose 49%.

It'll be 50%, Controlling amount, 100%, or 0%. That's just how it is... no sense talking about 49%.

Re: DIC, final offer?

I think if DIC acquires the 49 % this is only a sign of things to come. What Amanda Staveley has effectively done is pull tom hicks pants down and expose him to the public for the liar he his. I think there will be an orchestrated campaign against Tom Hicks till he is shown the door.

It gets them a foot in the door & then they can sit tight and wait for Hicks to wave the white flag. Hicks won't be able to secure a further financing package to construct the new stadium & DIC know this.

I would imagine because Hicks would probably deny sending a letter or even agreeing to meet in Dubai next week whereas the letter has been leaked Hicks now has to admit sending it and meeting DIC next week.

Staveley is leaking info but Hicks before hand has been brash and shooting his mouth off about how Gillett can do nothing with him and that DIC will not buy him out.

We will see.

Hicks has also denied several time that he is even in negotiations about selling.. he is a liar and has been outed.

Re: DIC, final offer?

I wonder what Hicks' reaction would be to a cut of future profits in return for him selling his 50% stake.

If Hicks has no say in what Gillette does with his shares DIC wouldn't have gone for the 49% idea (although we were led to believe that they were never going to accept a minority share and would definetly/imminently/within a matter of days buy the club outright) and would be well on the way to 50% already.

It's usually not the best idea to fuck around the person you're trying to get to agree to a sale and piss him off by shouting your mouth about how you'll force him out once you get the 49%.

Perhaps she missed the memo that said that speech is for after he's agreed.
