Yes Rashid, of course.
With you in charge we would've stood still with Gerrard on right back, Carra as a holding midfielder, and Reina as striker (probably "up front on his own").
Let's just agree on that instead.
Up front on his own my arse.

Don't get the simpleton's opinion mixed up with the simple facts.
That begging letter you sent out looks funnier with every day you post here.

A bit harsh there mate. Against Bolton you could see the tactical manacles were still there but the players weren't robot-like in carrying the gaffer's tactical instructions and were more positive in an attacking sense. You are right though concerning the mentality. At the Reebok, it was spot-on and that's why we got the points.

It's good to see Rash, you started the day well, posting shite, more shite throughout the day and you finish off with this belter.
You are beyond help; you're either a stubborn sod or just plain thick. I liked to think I knew which one, I don't anymore.

Re: TOMKINS - Rafa's new Assistant
4-5-1 = 4-2-3-1 = 4-3-3 = 4-4-2 with a deep striker.
Numbers doesn't matter much to top coaches, I'm sure. It's how you play it ie. how for up the field your lines are, how you pressure and if you prefer the long or short ball from the back.
You can play dreamfootball in a 4-5-1 (Rafas Valencia) and Wimbledonstyle in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 (as Bolton did it)
One thing that annoyed the shit out of me was when Mourinho and Rafa lined up in the same formation, Chelsea was reported as playing 4-3-3 which sounds positive, and Liverpool were playing 4-5-1 which were used as a stick to hit Rafa with.
And basically even though Rafa "converted" to 4-4-2, theres always been one striker dropping far deeper to pick up the ball (which I actually partially blame for ruining both Kuyt and Morientes, as it's not their natural position) effectively making it a 4-5-1.
And obviously Kuyt isn't the answer for right wing, but he's probably the best we haev now, since Pennant couldn't score in a brothel.

Re: TOMKINS - Rafa's new Assistant
Is it not basically the same formation that United and Chelsea play only Andy Gray calls their formations 4-3-3??
Its pissed me off for ages that they call it a 4-3-3 when it's blatently a 4-5-1 with the wingers given more freedom to bomb forward due to having two holding midfielders. 4-2-3-1 is much more accurate but should be used for the other teams formations and not just ours. As mentioned a few pages ago... its all spin!

I for one was surprised when they shelled out 18m for mascherano so you never know. Obviously people will speculate but thats all it is until we see the proof in the summer.

Ahem...
Alan Curbishley: "I heard our fans voicing their disapproval, they think that playing 4-5-1 is negative. But that is how Liverpool played tonight, even if they had top players who could change a game."
