I'm sick of this Arsenal love-in bollocks

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Arsenal | Milan the ultimate test - Wenger

The first paragraph:

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says a knockout tie against Champions League holders AC Milan will be the "ultimate test" for his talented young team.

Average age of last line-up 25.45, average age of Liverpool's 26.36.

Big fucking difference.

Come on Milan!

We all want a decider in Moscow, don't we?

I agree that the "young" Arsenal mantra is tedious in the extreme. Hope they beat the Mancs in the title race though.

I hope A.C Milan win and we get them somewhere along the line. Ideally in the final.

Re: I'm sick of this Arsenal love-in bollocks

I am intrigued by the treatment Wenger gets. He's actually a very bad sport (he never sees any foul by his team, he gets peevish whenever anyone fails to treat him as the demi-god he thinks he is and he pokes his nose into other clubs' problems almost as often as Mourinho used to do) and quite a petulant loser, yet he remains ever-so fragrant in the media coverage. A superb manager, yes, but he gets away with a great deal thanks to his maiden auntish persona.

Thats because if the media piss him off, they'll be dealing with Pat Rice.

Very true. he complains when his players get fouled but has had teams with some of the dirtiest fuckers known to the premiership, keown, viera, bergkamp, etc

The talkin about his team as kids reminds me of o'leary at leeds. Every sentence was about kids.

I hope Arsenal go out in this tie. So they can focus solely on winning the league.

Actually, I'm hoping to get them in the semis. A home and away tie, with both sets of fans showing their respect (earned in the heat of BATTLE!) for the other club, would be the perfect conclusion to the Liverpool-Milan, Benitez-Ancelotti trilogy. A 1-1 draw in the San Siro, with the decider at Anfield. By God, just the idea is getting to me .....

Its something which will be talked about in hushed tones decades from now, spun out as an epic battle spanning 4 years.

PS: thats assuming the rest of the CL draw follows my devious masterplan. With Arsenal being thumped by Milan, and Chelsea going out on away goals (awww ...) to Olypiakos. And we get ManUre in the quarters, with Gerrard, Masch et al running riot in the 4th half at Anfield in front of the Kop.

Of course, we get Real Madrid in the final ...
