Re: Javier Mascherano

I'll be honest, despite recognising that he's an outstanding player, I thought the money we were spending on him was excessive and I'd rather have spent that money reinforcing us in the attacking third. However, I've now seen the error of my ways and realise you can never have too many outstanding players, no matter what position they play in. Over the last few weeks he has shown that he is probably the world's most outstanding player at what he does. I can only see him getting better in the future.

We have some top class talent at the club which only serves to enhance my frustration at our under achievement domestically. We now have 4 payers who would walk into most teams in Europe (Pepe, Masch, Gerrard and Torres). Let's hope Rafa can add to the talent already here this summer and learn the error of his ways when it comes to shitting about.

Re: Javier Mascherano

He's a superb holding midfielder, and allows our attacking talent more freedom.

Is he better than Didi Hamann and Makelele already?

Re: Javier Mascherano

He is better than Hamann and Makalele as he is more mobile than the pair of them.

Maybe not, but he's certainly on a par with them. If he carrys on the way he's going he'll surpass both of those with ease.

Makelele is overated anyway, hasn't exactly excelled in the toughest league in the world.

Yeah, deffo.

Passing not as good as Didi's, and it would be good if he could occasionally replicate the trademark "Didi Hamann Crumple", which has led to one of the slyest, cleverest and brilliantly dirty midfielders in the Premiership to regularly be in the "Top 10 Most Fouled Players" list.

I love Der Kaiser.

No, apart from all the trophies he's won there, to go with with all thr trophies he's won everywhere else.
