Re: I don't know whether to laugh of cry......
I did see an article recently where the reporter was talking as if he'd just suddenly had the penny drop. It was the start of another baseball season, some kind of open day takes place, and he realised that yet again there'd been little effort made to improve the 'roster' (I'm starting to learn these words). And he said this was the same every open day every year. He'd seen what we'd done, how passionate we'd been, and suggested it was time they started being the same.
It was nothing more than his observation, and probably got met with, "He's right dang it," before the readers turned the page and spotted a coupon for free mega-satu-fat-cookies and forgot all about it, but these little things can start to snowball.
It's currently gathering a growing (slowly) amount of attention over there, we've got to keep it going if we can, keep them interested.
This wasn't the article, which I can't find, but it's a good read nonetheless:

Re: I don't know whether to laugh of cry......
A response from Jen. Not taking up the invite to do some 'investigative reporting' then.....
Thanks for reading and taking the time to email.
We will have to agree to disagree because the football season ends today, in Arizona, with the Super Bowl. I understand the passion for the team but I think Liverpool fans should realize that Hicks has been a good owner for y'all compared to his Texas teams. All the best, Jen FWST

Hi Jen
Who are the Liverpool Reds? We are Liverpool Football Club. We are not a 'soccer' team. We are a 'football' team. Your article shows a complete lack of understanding. You clearly have no idea what is going on here, yet see fit to comment on it. Try reading the points made and articles quoted on the following forums, which will educate you :
www.theliverpoolway.co.uk <http://www.theliverpoolway.co.uk/>
The Independent Liverpool FC Website, Red and White Kop <http://www.redandwhitekop.com/>
Liverpool Football Club Supporters Network
Yours sincerely,
Paul

Thanks for reading and taking the time to email.
The drinking thing was a joke. And if I had known of Hillsborough, I certainly would not have made it. For that, I do apologize.
As for the Hicks hatred, I guess the debt thing is not big here because every owner takes on debt and certainly if a manager he had publicly criticized ownership like Rafa did then he'd be sacked immediately.
All the best,
Jen

I have Just finished reading your article In defense of Hicks, as a soccer owner, he is not that bad
I feel that if you are going to report the news you should have at the very least a little understanding of it
Your reference to the people protesting regarding Mr Hicks and his ownership of Liverpool Football Club as being just guessing here -- probably drunken protest afterward. Is both inaccurate and offensive and shows you complete lack of understanding as to the issues that the supporters have with Mr Hicks
This isn’t about Mr Hicks and his political allegiances or anything to do with his American sports interests but has everything to do with his honesty integrity and his ability to continue to be custodian of our clubs traditions
We have sat back and let Mr Hicks have 12 months in which to show that everything he promised would be acted upon and on each major point the has been found wanting
1) He promised that the club would not be burdened with the debt for his purchase and also for the new stadium he promised
2) On the new stadium he unveiled the plans to the world gave his promises and then within weeks backed tracked and made both himself and our club look stupid to the rest of the world
3) On player spending he promised to spend lots of these and then proceeded to ensure that was not the case
4) And probably the one thing that he could never comeback from and that was approaching another manager for the position of Liverpool’s Manager while Rafa Benitez was still in his Job
To act in the way he has over each of the points highlighted above has shown Mr Hicks to not be a fit and proper person to continue to be the owner of our Football Club
Unlike many sports fans that you may know, Liverpool Football Club means more to its supporters than you would ever know . Although as individuals we may not be in a position to change the owner of our club, collectively we might just be able to manage that.
I am sure that this will not be the only correspondence you will receive on your article. I’m also sure some may fall short of the standards expected,
But I think if you are to report on a subject you have little understanding of with such glaring inaccuracies and with such provocative guesses then you shouldn’t be that surprised. I’m sure if you took the time to read some of the Message boards you refer to or speak with the people involved with the sites you would have a better understanding of the feelings of the Liverpool Supporters I don’t expect you to agree with our stand point but if you are to report it I do expect you to understand it
Yours
Bob Smith

Nah, there'd be a bit of a kick up then everyone would get bored and MK Dons would carry on about their business.
