Inter Milan after Gerrard?

Controcampo - Articolo

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini is exploring the potential availability of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Controcampo says Mancini has spoken with Italian agent Giorgio de Giorgios about sounding out the possibility of luring Gerrard to the San Siro at the end of the season.

Inter see Gerrard as the final piece needed to rule Europe and are convinced the Reds ace is unsettled at Anfield as they struggle to compete with the Premiership's best. Failure to qualify for the Champions League next season will be all the encouragement Inter need to make an offer in the summer.

This type of speculation would make you think we had a big game against them coming up...

Very true. I just wonder if he would be tempted though, particularly now that the England manager is Italian.

Re: Inter Milan after Gerrard?

Any player of Gerrard's ability who moves to Serie A is taking a backwards step in their career, in my opinion.

Re: Inter Milan after Gerrard?

Shithouse trick to try to unsettle one of our best players before an important tie, but Gerrard might just be stupid enough to fall for it.

Capello would see more of him in England than he would in Italy seeing as he manages the English national team and lives in England

Plus I would imagine Inter are the last club Capello would fancy going to watch seeing as he has managed all of their biggest rivals.

It's a wildly speculative piece put out to try and unsettle Gerrard. We've all seen it before

I'm sure there'll be a few "Well if he's that bothered about England then he can fuck off the ego maniac" type posts but it's quite obviously not going to happen

They probably think the same about us too at the moment, hence why they think they would have a chance of getting him.

Why would that be? Best team in Serie A by a mile.

You obviously don't watch the Italian football. They are easily the best team (and squad) in that league.

Because they are a mickey mouse club, next season there will be two clubs fighting it out for the Serie A title and Inter will be not be among them they will be where they belong, among the dross.

Do you think they will knock us out of the CL?

Not a chance in hell, biggest underachivers ever on an even playing field.

I do think that we will beat them in the CL but they won the Serie A title last season and will do again this season, hardly underachieving is it?

If it is, I wish we were underacheiving!!

Yeah, that's why they've only lost two games in something like 18 months.

So you think it has been an even playing field then in the last two seasons?
