He was shit against Havant, and my arl fella decided after five minutes that he's a waste of money and just basically shit.

I'm gonna stick my neck out and say I've got a feeling he's going to be ace. He was bad last weekend, but it looked more like nerves to me than anything else. Looking past that, I noticed that he is quick, he's good in the air and he can play a long pass.

It mightn't be until next season when we see it, but I think he's gonna be very solid, and I reckon he'll score a fair few from set pieces too.

No doubt someone will dig this thread up in a years time and either be saluting my keen eye for a player, or taking the piss out of me.

Dave. I said that in the match thread!!! Hehe.

Anyway, Skrtel didn't even look bad... he plain looked nervous and out of place. Most of his mistakes were miscommunications.

The own goal wasn't his fault at all. Finnan gave the ball away and he got a foot to the shot. What can you do?

The headed ball back to Charles that nearly got interceped was a case of Charles standing still instead of coming for the ball. He could have headed it harder...

Little stuff like that. He showed his ability to pass the ball in the second half but in the first half a few passes of his were off by a mile and that's nerves.

I reckon he'll be a good signing.

First game and communication was hopefully all it was. Remember Vidic's first few games for the Mancs. If we look back at this forum there where a fair few dodged the bullet posts. As much as i hate to say it Vidic has been a top signing for the Mancs. Hopefully Skrtel will turn out just as good.

I still think Vidic is shit, but that's because I hardly ever watch them play these days. I remember those ropey games he had, and when Bellamy ripped the piss out of him at Anfield last year. So in my mind, he's still shit as I've seen nothing to change my mind. Ignorance is bliss.
