Do you want Dubai International Capital?
My old fella just told me that DIC are buying Liverpool. He knows fuck all about this so I asked him why he said that? He said on one of the Arab channels they were talking about it and they asked Ansari if it was true - to which they got a "no comment, sorry no comment". Looks like there is something in this as they don't really do wild arse speculation and mad rumours etc on those news channels.
I have also heard that them coming in now is just a matter of price.
So do you want them in? Or you happy to continue with things as they are? Remember them coming won't necessarily mean Rafa stays (although I know for a fact Ansari likes Rafa).

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?
We need someone who has the financial muscle, professionalism & integrity to take us forward both on and off the field, and they must have a long-term business plan. The stadium and improving the quality of the squad are of paramount importance, but commercial activities also need to be addressed as a matter of urgency as this is yet another area where we are lagging behind Manchester United.

I don't want DIC or any foreign ownership, As far as I'm concerned they can both fuck off.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?
At this moment in time I'd rather have DIC take over, because there isn't a "someone else", and I'd rather have my balls permanently stretched and stuck to the bottom of my feet than stay with the other two.
I don't expect them to back us much more than G&H did though either, but I would expect them to stick someone at Anfield/Melwood (exec level that is) who was in charge of the club and able to make day-to-day decisions himself.
I'm sure they'd review Rafa's situation, I doubt they'd sack him on Tuesday if they took over on Monday, but I think it's Parry who'd be first out of the door.

I find it very hard to believe the Yanks would be selling so soon.

I can put what little of my reputation I still have left on the line and say DIC will invest heavily in the team and the stadium - in Dubai it is what they do. That might not be the case with the investment arm but when you have £12 Trillion already invested a few million to compete with United won't furt them will it? We are talking about the big time here not some no marks who can't afford the deposit on their loan.
As for Rafa, Ansari said he backs Rafa when the last shit happened. He said on email and I posted it. BUT I doubt as a fan he would stick with Rafa if things fucked up.

A banker with links to Dubai Holdings said: "These guys are not after trophy assets. They buy and sell businesses for pure commercial reasons. They have proper investment objectives."

They are football fans Stevie - Ansari has said it is not just him but also other board members that are LFC fans. They are an investment firm but they are also fans.

Rashid as long as people are honest from day one and their intentions are good I haven't got a problem with DIC or anyone else taking over. We need people that have the financial muscle and the expertise to see through the development of a new stadium & can improve our commercial activities.
"Opportunities exist to boost returns by unlocking 'hidden' value. We believe there is potential for multiple arbitrage if real estate/leisure is developed on the current Anfield site. Such an investment would allow the Middle East region to leverage on a strong brand with an equally strong international fan base."

Honesty's a priority, it has to be, although I'm not sure how easy it is to judge the honesty of anybody - in advance - in a situation like this.
Hicks said in October that the refinancing would be done in 30 days. Bad enough that is was a type of refinancing they told us they wouldn't do, but even worse given that it's taken three times as long and is still not done. The stadium's now been put back at least another year as a result. They're not as rich as they'd have us believe. Although they'll be a little richer should DIC take it off their hands.
I also don't imagine they'd mess Rafa (or any future boss) about they way this lot did. If they know how much he can spend on transfers, they'll tell him. If they don't know because they need some other figures to come in, they'll tell him and give him a date. If they decide for any reason that they don't want that manager to stay on, they'll not allow that information to leak out, and they'll probably act sooner rather than later.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?
TBH I don't really want football fans in charge. It conjures up pictures of Mike Ashley in his replica shirt. I want competent business people who understand that the best way to make a return on their investment is through a successful team. Someone who knows enough about marketing to realise that putting "Premiership Champions" or "6 Times Champions of Europe" on merchandise will enable you to sell it at a higher margin. I want to see our manager's (whether this is Rafa or not is for another thread) opinion respected and him given the support to run the footballing side.
G&H claimed to be business men. What we have seen from them so far would embarrass a market stall holder. They are small time stock market gamblers.

DIC for me as there are really no other options. I would be surprissed if they came back in for us as I think we missed that one.
My feeling is we are stuck with the Yanks wether we like it or not.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?
Basically, there is no way things would be worse under DIC.
Infact i think things would improve dramatically.
So obviously, yes.
However, honestly, what are the chances of this ?
feels like no chance what so ever to me, obviously i hope i am wrong tho.
