Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?

Been surprised over the last few days that Robert Krafts name hasnt been brought into the papers either as another investor to work alongside Gillett and Hicks or as a sole take over.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?

I voted DIC, but that is more of a "most likely to rid us of the yanks" vote. I have never been spectacularly happy about it being sold in the first place, but The yanks have definitely been dishonest. I have not forgiven Gillet, even though he seems the nicer of the two, for spraying his dollars around in that interview. It is quite obvious that they weren't interested in making a load of cash available for Rafa.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?

I honestly don't care who owns us. As long as the club isn't financially crippled by building a new stadium and the manager is given reasonable funds each season then that'll do me.

I think G&H are cowboys but I also think Rafa has not delivered in the league either. I'm not expecting him to win it, there's some fucking seriously good competetion for that but what i do expect 4 years into his reign is some form of progression on the pitch. There's not doubt the quality of the team/squad has imporved under Rafa but i'm afraid the standard and style of play simply has not. That is the arguably the biggest concern for me.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?

I've got to be honest, if pie pod was an option they would have been my choice.

I did vote for the yanks. I have kind of resigned to the fact that Rafa wont be here for much longer. They will bring their own 'Yes' man in who will send us onto number 19 and number 7 (as Rafa will win number 6 this season).

It was almost (for me) unbelievable for them to show an interest in the club (as it was as if Christmas had come early).

As far as I see it, they're ultra ultra professional and about as sharp as you can get with regards to sport. Their leveraging and understanding of sports promotion and what is required to get the most out of their investments is second to none (I lecture in this stuff, so without sounding arrogant would hope I'm not a complete dickhead when it comes to this type of thing). I would be very surprised if they came back in, as I really though that ship had sailed. If they do come in again, it would seem that they see a lot of potential in our club. It is a certaintly that our brand value is woefully undervalued/underutilised at the moment.

Of all their sports interests, I'd say (as unbiased as I can be) we'd be their most prominent should this happen. Downsides . . .? To be honest I'm not sure. Their track record is excellent. Would they sell us after a period of time? I've no idea, but I honestly wonder why they would do so if we were continually successful given the networking, advertisment, and kudos associated with one of the oldest and most recognised brands in all sport. We do well it reflects well on Dubai and I think that is exactly why the wanted us in the first place - the association rather than to make a lot of money.

As I said they realise the importance of leveraging, so if they came in I'd be very very surprised if the stadium and team weren't sorted out very quickly. It wouldn't be the impasse that has existed the past twelve months, that's for sure.
Great post.

I've always believed it was a prestige thing for them. Look at the assets they have under management - Liverpool would just be a drop in the ocean.

On the other hand, a successful, winning Liverpool team would be a huge PR boost for the region.

And no way would they fuck us over like G&H are trying to do. It wouldn't make sense - the damage that would do to their image would outweigh any financial gain.

What I'd like to know is whether they'd build the original stadium (the one we now have planning permission for)?

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?

Sorry lads and ladies I've had enough.
Got to page 3 (no, not the one with tits on it, but then again....) before I felt I had to point something out.
This 500M is bollocks.
All they have to do is wait till the end of feb and give the bank what G+H couldn't.
Even if G+H wanted to do a deal with them their not exactly in strong position anyway. A quick glimps at the book would tell you they've put nothing in!
Read on RAWK that G+H offered a stake in LFC to DIC in autumn but negotians broke down as they couldn't agree on a valuation, My guess is that they were asking for too much dough.

Re: Do you want Dubai International Capital?

I want anyone but the yanks but I think we're stuck with them

If Ansari told his bosses last time that the club was worth £250m how is he going to justify paying much more than that now? The club isn't worth any more and the general economic climate is worse.

The only way we'll get them out soon is if they haven't got the resources to extend or refinance their RBS loan and I'd be surprised if they were in that much trouble.

Yes maybe they took the Yanks offer cos the promised everything that they wanted plus more cash (who wouldn’t take that in there position)
But I don’t believe for one second that they knew these two would act like this

If you believe the speculation it is Moores's camp who are trying to keep the fans informed about what Laurel & Hardy are up to

So lets not have anymore of this sold us down the river shite they made a wrong call and as i remember there were many people who thought that these two where the better option at the time hindsight is a wonderful thing that everyone has but no one can see

They did sell us down the river though. Either through ineptitude, greed or both. I couldn't care less if their promises were met - everyone knows that any of those promises are reliant on good will and aren't legally binding. Parry had been briefing against Gilliett for months and the clubs was releasing stuff saying how they were unhappy about his bids muddying the waters etc. They didn't want to know him - in fact Gillett himself even made a joke out of how Parry wouldn't answer his calls. What changed to make them suddenly favour his bid? Was it Tom Hicks coming on board with his track record of sporting failure? Or was it the extra cash (and Parry keeping his job)?

They didn't have to worry abut paying over the odds as they knew the fans would be paying it back anyway.

All Moores and Parry needed to do if they loved the club was do their research - even just google the two names. It is a struggle to find a positive article about them as they have done pretty much fuck all in sport. Did they think Tom Hicks with his history of sacking managers on a whim was suddenly gonna change? Did they think the leveraged buy out king was going to suddenly change and pay for the club himself?

And this isn't hindsight - nearly every Liverpool fan I knew was furious when these guys took over. Parry said trust us and we did especially when the two yanks proved great at PR. However in time most of the doubts people had have been proved right.

So I reiterate IMO Parry and Moores have sold us down the river.

As they said you only sell the family silver once!
