Does the Prem matter

I was listening to sky before and the fans where ringing in and it was all the normal stuff
about Rafa rotation etc and it was starting to do me head in when I started to try to look at this from another angle
Take football away from this which is what I did and it was like a bolt of lightning
If in my Job I had gone to ask my boss for 100m to invest I would have been asked a few simple questions before it even got past the idea stage

1) what was it for
2) what would it add to the business
3) Is there another way to do it without the spend
4) What is the consequences to the business if we don’t spend the money
5( What are the returns and how soon will we recoup the money

Now when you do the same thing with us and Football

1) Investment needed to win the Prem £100m IMHO at today’s prices
2) 1 cup to the trophy room
3) invest in youth and develop your own players but this will take 5-10 years
4) not a great deal as long as we can still win the odd cup and finish in the top 4 for Europe
5) well about 5m extra in price money in the year that we win the Prem which will be lost in bonuses and other payments and some additional money from sponsors

Result errrr Thanks but no thanks and your notice is in the post

See we fill the Ground at Anfield now so we cant make any more money there until the new one is built we are the best supported of all the other teams due to are European exploits and that is the key if we keep doing well in Europe we will keep expanding are income and we will only have to be in the 1st 4 to do that every year if you look at United they milk every penny they can off the field and yet even with record profits they make a small loss Same with Arsenal

I now think we will just carry on spending at the normal rate for players and hope to do the business in Europe, and increase the revenue from around the world.
That is the reason G&H are in it, yes they will spend a bit to stop the fans here getting arsey.
They will try to make money around the world and in the states in particular.
The difference in winning the Prem and finishing 4th in the Prem is minimal in terms of money brought into the club
Winning the CL on the other hand and you can rake it in and the amount needed to win that is nowhere near as much

Well back to the land of nod for me
