The above would give us £50m plus £20m from Champions League revenue plus £20m from the G&H (we live in hope!), that would give us £90m to spend in the summer on QUALITY players.

£17m on Javier Mascherano
Anderson and Guthrie brought back from loan
+£28m in the bank for other reinforcements

I think this is a good post, we should sell about 8 - 10 players, get in about 4 or 5 and allow the youngsters to develop in the first team squad.... it would mean a better team, clean out of the mediocrity and a chance for the kids.

Fair point mate. I didn't mean it snotty so apologies Navvy son. I just don't get speculation. It ends up creating rows. People get something in their head and then when it doesn't go to their plan there's drama. However, I could have got my point across in a better way so sorry chief.

Selling Hyppia would be a crime. He's only got the league to go and he says he's be happy playing 10 games as long as it meant finishing his collection with Liverpool.

No offense intended, but it just smacks of Championship Manager. You really have no idea if the players you want are available or would want to sign for us and the numbers are just as speculative. Some of the players you want to sell have a place with us as squad players and may be no worse than the replacements we would have to bring in with such a big clearout. I'm not convinced a big clearout is required anyway. I do agree with some of the names you would look to sell, and it's clear we need some quality attacking players brought in, but shifting all our natural left-backs and spending £25M on a right-back when it's clear the wings and up front are our weakest positions? I don't get it at all, sorry.
