I won't bother with Alves, i know that i'm going to get slated but i think he's overrated and over priced.. and gets over exposed on his defensive duties..
We have Arbeloa who has yet to get a run at Right Back and Finnan as cover.

The central back position I think has been covered now with the £6.5m signing of Skrtel. The reason why I would sell Sami now is simply for the fact that we would get £1-2m for him now rather than nothing in the summer. As much as I love the guy for being a gent and for the service he has provided in a Liverpool shirt over the last 9 years, I can't see beyond this season for him.

Next season we will have Carra, Agger, Skrtel and Hobbs - does anyone really think that Sami is going to get any games. Personally I would offer Sami a coaching job at the club, but then that depends on whether he wants to continuing playing for another couple of years which I have no doubt he could do at any of the clubs outside of the top 4.

The thread was really to highlight that so much is made about the lack of funds, but if the right players were sold, players that have been given a chance and not proved their worth in a Liverpool shirt, Rafa could easily move those players on and have a sizeable kitty for the summer without the Yanks even having to dig too deep, which I think we all know may happen.

I don't think they are struggling to meet the loan repayments, just struggling to get a better refinancing deal from the banks.

To answer your question, if I was the businessman struggling to meet the loan repayments, then I would look to sell the company...

when summer comes, we should really get rid of all the average and replace them with quality players. Of course we keep several 'ok' average players for rotation.
