RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/0601_rafa.shtml

Rafa: I'm a dead man walking
Liverpool boss expects chop
By Jeremy Butler

RAFA BENITEZ has sensationally admitted he EXPECTS to be sacked by Liverpool.
And the Kop boss could get the elbow as soon as next month if Liverpool crash out of the Champions League.

The Spaniard is a dead man walking on Merseyside after American owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks REFUSED to discuss a new contract for Benitez despite his pleas.

And now the Kop boss is on yet another collision course with his bosses after again criticising Liverpool's lack of spending power.

A close friend of Benitez said: "There was no talk of a new contract when Rafa met with the owners last month.

"He also knows there will be very little money for him this month to buy the centre-half that he believes he needs.

"There is also the problem of Javier Mascherano (pictured). He will not sign because he does not know whether the manager is going to be there this season, let alone next.

"Manchester United and Arsenal are bringing in over £2million per home game, while Chelsea can turn to Roman Abramovich. Liverpool don't have the cash to live with them.

"Rafa wants to stay but now he believes he will be sacked because the owners have not shown they will back him."

Benitez's current deal has another two years to run but the Spaniard already appears to be making plans to leave.

He has been linked with the Bayern Munich job and sources in Spain claim Benitez's representatives have been sounded out by Real Madrid.

Defeat to Inter Milan next month would virtually seal Benitez's fate with the owners, especially after the Liverpool manager's latest dig.

Massive
Rafa moaned: "We must do almost everything perfectly to compete with the likes of United. Over a season it is a massive difference in what we bring in compared to United.

"They can buy two top-class players with this money every year. How can you compete? With the Premier League, it is clear we are a little bit behind the others. If they continue spending it will be more difficult."

For Hicks and Gillett, Benitez's bleating are growing harder to take and with the manager now admitting he expects the axe, they will find it even more simple to sack the Spaniard.

Let's see Rafa deny this, the yanks got enough stick for failing to respond to media speculation.

I'm not holding my breath, he's desperately begging for somebody to save his arse and doing it via "a close friend".

Is there a single issue or scenario where you wouldn't back the owners who have done fuck all over the manager who has taken us to 2 European Cup finals?
Oh thats right, you're an employer, so the owners of the means of production have shit that just never smells according to you.
I can't work out whether you are a WUM or just one of the biggest cunts ever to find the way to turn a computer on.

Where is the difference in the owners refusing to respond and Rafa refusing to respond?

I don't want him sacked, but if he continues with this destabilising off the club the sooner he goes the better. If he doesn't issue a statement by the end of Monday I hope they boot him out and get somebody with an ounce of integrity.

He's turning the club into a pantomime.

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?

Butler is reporting on it and Bascombe isn't, therefore, the speculation has no foundation.

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?

Close friend of benitez or benitez himself?

why would rafa sanction someone to say this on his behalf? its either deliberate becos he knows the owners definately want to sack him or he's trying to get himself sacked becos he's had enough and real madrid look far more appealing, why stick with a club that gives you a net spend of 25 million even with increased television money when you can go to madrid and ask for any player you want not to mention its the club he supports anyway.

Rafa has been told to button it by the owners so why come out like this?

hope the story is just made up shit but everytime we think that it turns out there is some hint of truth.

strange and unsettling goings on at the club.

Could we see a situation where both the manager and the owners leave by this summer? hope the owners fuck off but I do wonder what game rafa is playing, we will only really find out in the summer I suppose.

It's not that I believe everything written, I just believe that Bascombe would have taken the reigns on a massive story like this if it had foundation.

I certainly believe that Butler, is indeed, chatting shit.

And they are just running out of things to say about us, the leeches. For example:

30/12/2007

Liverpool owner Tom Hicks has accused manager Rafael Benitez of behaving petulantly in the recent dispute over transfer policy.

His comments risk reviving the tension between Benitez and Hicks and his co-owner George Gillett.

Hicks, 61, revisited the row over transfers, which saw Benitez publicly accuse the American duo of failing to understand the European transfer market.

"We wanted to see what we could do with the players we had already bought," said Hicks. "Then he Benitez went to a press conference and kind of pouted and answered in the same way 20 times, 'I'm focusing on my team'."

Hicks was dismayed at the players' attitude in the loss to Manchester United.

He said: "Our team played like they mentally didn't think they were good enough to win."

Gillett and Hicks will make a final decision on the design of the club's new stadium on January 9.
