It never ceases to amaze me that people jump on Rafas back , after 2 Champs, league finals in 3 years ! The man is a fucking genious , and if he was given the chance to spend as freely as Ferguson , he would prove it.The only reason utd have had the success they have in the last 20 years is because liverpool have been a joke on and off the pitch, thereby given the scum and arse success on a plate , without major competition from the countries' most succesful club.
The best decision the board has made since Dalglish left was to hire Rafa , letting him go now , without him ever being PROPERLY backed would be catastrophic in my opinion.

Here here brother.
Ive been one of rafas critics latley about some of his decisions on the pitch ,but realy if we want to asess him in the league properley he has to have a level playing field with the mancs and chelsea.I know wenger has brought some great youngsters through but even he has been able to out spend liverpool over the last ten years when hes had to.

I don't want him sacked, but if he continues with this destabilising off the club the sooner he goes the better. If he doesn't issue a statement by the end of Monday I hope they boot him out and get somebody with an ounce of integrity.
He's turning the club into a pantomime.

If this really is (as it seems) nothing more than shit-stirring from the Sunday Scum, why should he dignify it with a response?
(PS - Who the fuck is "Raffa"?)

So in the meantime we can't expect him to have us challenging for the league?
If we can't put up a good challenge with the players currently at his disposal then on what basis can we expect to win it if we give Rafa heaps more money?

You forgot one category, a category I for one am placed in, and that is the "Those who are generally very very sceptical of what the papers say, good or bad news". One thing I've learned is that nothing is certain until it has happened. I trust Dave, and I have good experience with what Bascome are writing. In the same way, I have bad experiences with articles that quotes "a close friend".

Don't you think he has shown enough in his time here to be given a chance on a level playing field i.e. let him spend this summer (properly on 3-4 £20 million plus quality players) and see what happens. Isn't this what the yanks were promising us on their charm offensive when they took over?

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?
It seems to me that Rafa is trying to get himeself sacked now!
After all the hysteria of petitions & the Basecomb interview i had to wonder what the truth was/is.
Rafa wants out & all this talk of contract extensions is merely to force the Yanks hands.
Over the years Rafa has manupulated the media to get what he wants & this time it has backfired. The Yanks have not rushed into anything & in turn have given Rafa the rope to hang himself.
Were just about out of the league Title now. Only the unlikely scenario of Winning the Europenan Cup in Moscow could change Destiny. Will Rafa be in charge by May? I doubt it, he will off pushed the Yanks into having to act before then.
Whatever blame people want to make to the Owners,Parry, Moores etc Rafa this time only has himeslf to blame & the Points in the league table prove this!

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?
One thing some people are overlooking is that if Rafa were sacked it would not be for footballing reasons and that would be a travesty he would be sacked for not towing the party line. The owners themselves admitted they didn't expect to win the league as the squad was some distance behind Uniteds.
If you were to add up the squad values of the last three title winning teams and their wage bill you could see what has had a major impact on where the title goes or just look at how many time Rafa has missed out on his first choice signings compared to the mancs or Chelsea.
The owners are more interested in progressing in the c/l as that is where the money is how much extra dollars do they earn if Liverpool finish 1st or 2nd.

That's irrelevant, no matter how much people keep saying it.
A valid reason is a valid reason on the pitch or off it.
Do you not think Souness should have been sacked after "Loverpool"??
I know what Rafa's done is nowhere near that bad but the fact remains that he has significantly contributed to the circus currently surrounding the club and if that was to continue he would deserve to be sacked.
Let's remember he had shown a liking for using the press to his advantage before the Americans came, and had, albeit less directly, made comments in public about the running of the club.
He was given the benefit of the doubt then and has been again, for many including me, in his tirades against the current owners.
He's had his chances but I think may have learned from the recent episodes. If he wants to stay at the club and is by some miracle backed by his employers in every way, I don't believe he would be so quick to speak out in future.

I'm not saying sack him, I'm saying he won't win the PL. I'll wait and see until the summer whether I think he should be gone or not.

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?
I`m pretty sure Rafa will get the sack if we have the same owners come May or whenever we are out of the Champions League and the FA Cup.
For me there is only one candidate to take over the job if he goes/gets sacked and that is Mourinho.
But hopefully the Americans will be forced out before we reach this point.

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?
Shouter is spot on with what he says. There is a lot of shit going on at the moment and i`ve supported LFC since 1965 and can`t ever remember a manager being under so much pressure as Benitez. Do we want to be in the same position as Newcastle and Spurs ? changeing managers every other season?
David Moores must wish that he could turn the clock back because selling the club to those two lying bastards must be giving him sleepless nights.
I`m really starting to feel very frightened about the whole situation that the club is in.
Give Benitez the support that he deserves, he`s the best manager we`ve had since Paisly, and who would any of you replace him with ?

It was the only other non footballing reason I could think of. And was used to emphasise that not only "footballing reasons" are valid.
Of course no other manager of recent times has made such a stupid mistake as Souness.
Or has used the press and spoken out about goings on at the club the way Rafa has.

if we had kaka, alves, ronniedingo, deco, raul in our squad, they'd still be rotated, and they'd still be played out of position as soon as they got into a run of form, wiping out any momentum they'd built up.
We need someone on charge that knows our strengths and plays to them ,rather than knowing inside out the opposition strengths and changing our team to negate them.
all these stories in the media today sounds to me as if benitez has used the anonymous source routine to keep fans support/ Ire up at the protest levels

What the fuck do you mean with "reputation intact"???
Is it better for his reputation to be sacked rather than quitting himself? Are you a fucking idiot? It would appear so.

Re: RAFFA EXPECTS TO GET SACKED?
Has he enhanced his reputation at Liverpool? I think he has in Europe and the likes of Real would love him but in England I am not sure he has, most opposition fans don't rate him at all and he has been poor at what we call the "bread and butter" of a league challenge.
