Re: Ryan Babel
i'm with Cochear on this one. Rafa has mainly used Babel as a wideman but more often than not as an impact sub and he has done well. He is a young lad finding his feet.
remember people thinking this guy was no good because his tocuh was all over the place in his first few games. That was his first few games as a sub out wide. If he had been up front and looked that clumsy, and on top of that been starting games, his anfield career could have been screwed up from the start.
I think it is about the lads confidence from Rafa's point of view, coupled with the lack of wingers we have that are a threat, and the inuries to some of the ones early doors, that are the reason for him being played out there. But a good side issue is our confidence in him. It is there now, we want to see more of him because we believe he is a threat, whereas if too much was asked of him early doors when he looked clumsy and inneffective there would be far less leeway shown towards him when things do go wrong as they inevitably will from time to time.
