But that suited Rafa's agenda rather than the clubs. If Rafa's being outspoken to the club's benefit then there's no problem.
I'm not saying that it's right, I'm just saying that I can see why the club did it.

For me, Rafa staying suits the club more than anything. Did Rafa do it for himself only? or did he do it because he knows it is best for us regardless?

Re: Chelsea Pre-match Press Conference...
I personally think that Rafa did it because he wants the fans to know that his hands are tied and that he believes the club's inaction on certain things are holding us back. Essentially he was saying "it's not my fault, it's theirs". It was actually very unprofessional of him and basically made the situation worse.

Re: Chelsea Pre-match Press Conference...
I havent gone through all the responses, but what if Rafa himself requested that they miss a pre-Chelsea press conference in order that he can focus on preparing the side and avoiding any more headlines?

I hope you're not fucking deluded enough to think that Benitez wouldn't jump at the chance to go back in time and NOT do things the same way?
He's backtracked in every single statement since.
He fucked up and he knows it. And so does the entire world.

Q1) Rafa, why are you so great?
Q2) Rafa, would you say that Liverpool is the greatest club in the world because it's so great?
Q3) Isn't it great that the new stadium is now going to be a year late so that it can be made even more great?
Q4) Isn't it great that you won't be able to spend any money in January, as spending money is really rather vulgar in light of supporter's wages?

The thought did actually cross my mind Liam. But Rafa being Rafa, he would probably have his mind on what people would think about the press conference not taking place and wouldn't be able to concentrate on preparing the team.

Well if it wasnt his decision then I cant see him being happy about it as its one of his duties.
I couldnt care less myself, theres far too many press conferences and interviews these days anyway. It just gives the media a chance to create a story.

That would explains his "I am focused on preparing my team" debacle of an interview. Always thinking of the team first, and not wanting to fuel any debate about a controversial press conference
