Whats the media's problem with liverpool?
I genuinely dont think that it is liverpool fans being paranoid. The majority of the media fuckin hate Liverpool. Why?
Is it because of the london/manchester press base?
because we're the most successful british club ever?
Because Liverpool fans are alll about Liverpool?
Blame us for english clubs gettin banned?
I just dont know what the fuck it is but read any article and it just confirms it to me. This is intensified when these big games come around.
For example for some stupid reason I have just been readin an article from mat le tiss on sky sports. Never played for man u, not a manc, whats his fuckin problem with us for example. But what a fuckin knob head he is sayin benitez has had plenty of money and shouldnt be askin for more. Saying they are "much better" in midfield than us - since fuckin when?
Like I say this is just an example but what the fucks goin on!

Re: Whats the media's problem with liverpool?
I find myself thinking that sometimes but I'm sure they are saying exactly the samething on The Arsenal/Chelsea/Man Utd way. No-one thinks they are that blinkered but maybe we are?

Posted something about this before and it's not worth getting worked up about. Has been like this for as long as i can remember. As long as we know the score, who gives a flying fuck what they think.

Load of paranoid, self pitying shite if you ask me.
If you asked Chelsea/Arsenal and United fans they'd probably say they think the press is against them too.

Re: Whats the media's problem with liverpool?
I remember Toshack saying Rafa was called "El Narkey" by the Spanish media. I would rather that than the "everybody loves Ged" we used to get with our previous manager.

Re: Whats the media's problem with liverpool?
I honestly couldn't care less what the media think about Liverpool. It used to get to me, and every now and then I get wound up (usually when I've had a drink) at the odd comment from the pundit "experts"- and here I'm referring to some utterly ridiculous statements, like Charlie Nicholas' "Mascherano is over-rated" effort last week, or the "Gerrard's been taken off, will Rafa pay for that decision??", and so on- but generally now I just pay attention to us and us alone. Leave the London-biased media to get on with what they do best. Which isn't to make well-informed, intelligent statements about football; it's to bullshit and try and create trouble where there isn't any.
I give Cappello six months before they start to get on his back. Christ knows what he's let himself in for.

Ted: No... No, Dougal, that's us. That's Catholicism.

Re: Whats the media's problem with liverpool?
Used to bother me a long time ago now I expect it. Can't wait for the weekend papers you can bet you life on some sentational story line being brought out without any substance before the Utd game.. then it all disappears in readiness for the next big game... it's all a load of bollocks if you ask me, would worry about it Grady.. same shite, different day!

Re: Whats the media's problem with liverpool?
Indeed, its mostly the same tired old shite endlessly rehashed, even though you would think a journalist might occasionally check his facts. E.g. Rafa rotates (even though Wenger/Ferguson rotated just as much per game last season), Liverpool/Rafa have spent loads of money (although the net spend isn't that great, and we spent less than ManU in the summer), Rafa shouldn't be asking the owners for more money (although he wanted to sell players to raise money), zonal marking is crap (although we have one of the best defensive records) etc etc.
Most journalists and pundits have their preset ideas and everything is twisted to fit that, regardless of the facts. I do think they are anti Rafa compared to say being completely up Fergie's arse. Once we win the league I think some of them will shut up, but there will still be some that will still complain that RAfa's only one it once etc.
I'm quite happy that they continue to write off our chance in the league and Champions league as it takes the pressure off us.

Anyone who thinks there is no media agenda against our fine club and we're just playing the victim is either a bitter OOT (Remmie, AdamS) or an obsessed undercover Manc (Original202)

I would certainly say they have more variety and a stronger 1st 4 in midfield. we are shocking on both flanks except for the 28 minutes a season kewell can be arsed and the odd occasion gerrard plays out right.
