Theo Walcott

Call me a fucking idiot - many have - but am I the only person who thinks this 'teen sensation' is somewhat overrated? I know he's young, and should probably improve, and you can't argue with Wenger's astuteness as a manager, but will he really reach the standards that people are attributing to him? I only watch the Arse from time to time, but I can't recall a match where he's really done anything to impress me...

(One of my mates is a Saints fan, and used to waffle on about him long before the transfer, but I never saw any of their matches.)

Re: Theo Walcott

What standards are people attributing to him?

And no, Rashid's wanking doesn't count.

Oh no, not again, arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhh.

Edit - That wasn't a dig by the way, just anticipation of a 700 page thread.

He could be very good. Probably needs another season.

Hes superb. Hes a pocket dynamo. Hes going to be the best player in the world. He already can walk on water.

He is a youngster playing for Arsenal, course hes fucking good.

I agree. He looks a very tidy young player. Bags of pace, skillful and plays with his head up. Playing on the wing will do him a lot of good and in a couple of seasons he could be very, very good.

Sorry Karl, I must have missed that one - I'm kind of new - but just watching them tonight I thought, 'Why the fuck was everyone wanking themself off over this boy?' - does that make any sense?

It certainly does. What Coop jests at actually has a substance of truth. He plays for Arsenal so is hyped as one of Wenger's gems (plucked from obscurity for £12m (?)).

He is good though.

Re: Theo Walcott

It stems from him being called him for England and never playing.

Theo will definately be a player, IMO, unless he has some major setback mentally or physically.

Re: Theo Walcott

How old is he now?

Babel or Theo? Who was the better deal?

I'm leaning towards Babel.

International experince.
Can play anywhere across the front line.
Scoring goals even though he's only played in the EPL for a couple of months.
As fast as Theo.
And Rafa is really developing his all round game.

Re: Theo Walcott

I don't think Babel is as fast as Theo. Theo is in Torres' league for speed from what I've seen(unless I'm mistaken).

Babel is quite quick, not as slight, and has a better eye for goal, IMO.

As long as you are faster than your marker, that's all that matters. There aren't that many REALLY fast defenders/

Re: Theo Walcott

IMHO he is the closest think to Young Owen i have seen Wenger is playing him wide to develope parts of his game when he lets him loos through the middle you wont be saying over rated a brilliant tallent we should never have let slip away regardless of the fee

Re: Theo Walcott

was just about to kost the same, I dont think he has Owen's goalscoring instinct, but his movement on and off the ball is very similar
