They had a lot of that at Bolton though, obviously Fat Sam not practising what he preached, but they did do a lot of this new-fangled sports-science stuff.

I agree with that. I'm not sure Sammy's schtick is what we're looking for. I hope he finds success elsewhere though.

Give him the job of crazy fan who goes mental when we score. I loved seeing Sammy's reaction whenever we stuck one in.

Would've thought that his england credentials should have taken care of the Ivan drago style gadgetry doubts
Its not as if they just spray people with water and slap a plaster on in the international set up

What we need most of all is a link man between the players and Rafa. That's a job that's got Gary Mac written all over it.

I presume he means a contract with Sky. All pundits that are still in the game would have a caveat for getting back into the game.

All Sammi's teams have one thing in common - dinasour football.
I wonder of McPharland will come back as chief scout.

What the fuck does that mean? He's only managed one club and by all accounts he was trying to get them to play football.

Re: Sammy Lee leaves Bolton
Yeah it was Fat Sam who played that style and Sammy tried to change it.
Would love to see him back, I know Paul is right about Gary Mac having a role but Sammy is as qualified as they come which is what some people moan about on here when we bring up Gary Mac.

Re: Sammy Lee leaves Bolton
I can remember whenever we played Bolton Sammy Lee always followed his manager at having a few digs at Rafa.
I cant see him coming back to be honest and i cant say im that bothered.

Re: Sammy Lee leaves Bolton
us reds are pure sentamentalists but it wouldnt be the strangest occurance if he did come back, he's always been highly rated as a coach and im sure he'd be good for the players.
if i remember correctly, bascombe said rafa wanted him to stay on board when he took over but sammy wanted to step us as assistant and so left as rafa brought pako with him, now pakos gone who knows?
could be a "possibility", although rafa did say he wasnt bothered getting another assistant in?
