Re: Ryan Babel

I agree with you Brownie about his confidence.

Hes now looking far more assured of himself and seems to want to beat the full back instead of going for the easy pass backwards all the time.

I dont know about been one of the worlds best but im certain he will be a top player.

All considered, no wonder the player and man is gasping a little. His nerves have clearly gone but even so, he has made contributions in what, 8 games?

8 games.

Although its unfortunate form him to arrive at a time when Title Fever is, understandably high, I think we should give the lad a full season.

Didn't do Drogba much harm.
Obviously I still stand by this but wouldn't criticise the lads who didn't like him for now changing their opinion. I think he will be a different player again come march onwards. Happy days.

Re: Ryan Babel

Brownie makes a good point about the way Rafa is using him so far...he is an impact player for this season and is being used as such. His confidence will rise for games like today. Coming into the game with 20 minutes or half an hour to go when it is stretched and he can use his pace and mobility will do him the world of good.
He looks a confidence player at the moment and he looks better on the right than he does on the left for my money.

Re: Ryan Babel

I'll give him credit where it's due, he's being given opportunities and he looks to be taking them. He looks very lively in forward positions and looks to be getting sharper both on and off the ball. With any luck the price we paid for him will look like better and better value over the next couple of seasons.

Re: Ryan Babel

My opinion is turning for the better. I thought he was clumsy and overpriced, but he's growing on me now. Has an almost Barnesy-like quality to him at times, if he keeps improving he might one day be good enough to be mentioned in the same breath as the great man.

I think he's getting better with every appearance as well.

Re: Ryan Babel

He was always going to take a little time to settle just because of his youth and rawness. He is going to be a quality player though, I'm sure of that.

Re: Ryan Babel

I'm going with the Brownie consensus - Loads of potential and with a growing confidence and experience is developing into a very good player.

He's got such a powerful shot on him, I get excited whenever he goes to shoot.
