Re: Ryan Babel
I think Bourbon sums it up, no one was expecting an immediate impact from Babel due to those circumstances as if he's going to tear it up and be an awesome player straight away. be patient, he has the talent and is finding his feet, judge him after 50-60 games i.e well into next year in my view

Re: Ryan Babel
I would have thought watching the likes of drogba and ronaldo (6 goals/4 assists in his first season) would make anyone show patience for a season before writing someone off.

Re: Ryan Babel
I thought most of our players looked a bit rusty and out of sorts yesterday. And because of that I won't point the finger at one single player. Especially not a new signing who's only 20 years old.

Re: Ryan Babel
Hands up everyone who's seen him play more than ten hours of football.
Thought so.
Like many others, I haven't been blown away by what I've seen from him, either. However, it is so early in his Liverpool career that it's just ridiculous to make definitive statements about him.

Re: Ryan Babel
Babel actually held on to the ball better than most of our players last night when he received it

Ronaldo in his first game came on as sub and tore Bolton a new arsehole. He was 17, Babel is 20. There is no comparison between the two though cos one is a winger and one a striker. You could see from even before Ronaldo came to United that he was a magician with the ball and he would be world class one day, it was obvious and I said so when he was at Benfica.

he is a forward, are you happy with that desciption? Stop repeating the same mantra over and over again, it is so fucking annoying. You know everything, or so it would seem, so why enter discussions? You should set up your own forum Rash, where you can start a thread every two minutes and reply to it saying, thats right, i agree, i knew i was right. then onto the next subject.
If you watched all of his games for Ajax, whilst simultaneuously watching all of our games, and all of Queresmas and Ronaldos and whoever else is flavour of your latest agenda, how the hell do you have time for a life ro a job?
your opinion is that he is a great striker and a useless winger, we know that, but it doesnt mean it is any more than your opinion, and not necesaril the whole truth.

Babel came on as a sub at Villa and looked excellent in the time he was on - caused them real problems and could have scored a couple of belters. He was excellent against Derby. He's had a few games where he hasn't done much. All your flavour of the week players do too.
You really should support someone else. You seem to get no pleasure from our players, and too much from other teams.
Also do you have to repeat everything ad nauseum?

Re: Ryan Babel
there seems to be this obcession(sp) with wingers, as long as babel puts in decent crosses and scores goals then takes good enough for me. one of the greatest 'widemen' in our history started life as a striker (ray kennedy)

lack of patience is terrible in this day and age, like there is no pleasure seeing a player mature and develope in front of our eyes so we can proudly say 'we developed them' if it were up to some fans drogba would have been sold in his first season.

Re: Ryan Babel
Babel was one of our best players last night. granted it wouldn't have been hard and paletta might have looked good last night as 8 0r 9 players went missing.
I like him. he looks to take players on, alright it doesn't come off sometimes and he loses the ball but other times it does come off and when he gets more experience and confidence I think he'll prove to be one of rafas best ever signings. he has a great touch, he's fast, strong, skilfull and has one of the hardest shots i've ever seen. he's also intelligent which is something cisse and bellamy aren't. he 's made a big step up from ajax to Liverpool and it's not always going to be the babel show.
