why are our forwards not scoring?
I know it's early days and we're winning the games anyway but the same problem seems to be there. our forwards for all their hard work just aren't getting the goals. Idrizaj got 3 against wrexham, crouch got one against crewe and Voronin got two against someone but that aside Gerrard, Riise or Agger are just as likely to score.
is this the way it's gonna be?
will our forwards come up with the goals when the midfield doesn't?

Rafa's teams in the past - notably Valencia - worked the same way. When he won the Primera Liga I think their forwards hardly reached double figures. |

Give it a rest, our new star striker signing has also only played about 70minutes aswell. What a fucking ridiculous topic. |

why the panic and anyway isn't it about time the midfielders chipped in with a few unlike last season.
Once the season starts and the newbies have bedded in with the way Rafa wants them to play i have no doubts that the strikers will be scoring regular. i mean theres bound to be a lot of this coming from press other supporters without us having to worry about it now.

Paco, these matches are purely for familiarisation and fitness. They bear no relation watsoever to competitive football. For that reason I'm deliberately avoiding them this season as I don't want to start forming opinions (even subconsciously) from flawed evidence.

I agree it's a great thing goals come from all over the pitch but it won't always be like that and will the strikers be able to score the goals to win us games when agger, riise, Gerrard and to a lesser extent Alonso and benayoun don't. |

So 6 from 14 goals are from strikers so far. 3 of those were free kicks or pens so thats 6 from 11 open play goals. More than 50%. Get a grip Paco.
