But they are 2 predominatly defensive midfielders. Hell El Jefecito could do a better job than both of them together. He can pass better than carrick and tackle better than hargreaves. With Mascherano we can afford to play Sir Stevie in the middle. |

Considering that Rafa has always thought that Torres is "overrated" and "overpriced" - I guess Fernando Torres is the best signing of the summer for this club.  |

At 23, he is the perfect striker for us, one that wants to learn, is proud to play for us and has exceptional talent. I feel like hunting down the people on here who said that "Rafa doesn't rate him". I am keeping my eyes on them though... even you Mr Usher. |

I think Earnshaw could be the surprise of the season. Don't get me wrong, I think Derby are doomed, but I reckon he'll get a few goals for them. Did very well for West Brom when he was playing for them in the top flight but couldn't get a game because Bryan Robson preferred Kevin Campbell, as he was a better defender of set pieces.

In fairness Rafa's view was shared by almost every non Athletico fan I have seen on other forums. Torres was overpriced and overrated. However we got him for £18 million - much less than had been touted about in the past.
Torres from what I have seen and heard was overrated in terms of what he has achieved, however if he fulfills his massive potential he will be a world class player.
