Re: RTK Area – Information for Season Ticket and Fan Card Holders
Maybe RTK should have taken over the club instead of G&H....

I don't like people who are self-appointed anything. I won't deny that RTK essentially mean well, but they don't speak for me. So far as I'm concerned, they have no mandate for the demands they're making.

Ive got fuck all against OOT support, believe it or not and have friends from all over the country ive met at games, i obviously dont know much about you aside from the fact that alot of your posts are really condescending, hence my earlier insults.
I really couldnt give a flying fuck what you or anyone else thinks of me from behind a computer screen to be honest.
This thread was about RTK, and pretentious as some of the stuff they say may sound at times, their is no getting past the fact that their hearts are in the right place and they seem to be doing stuff for the greater good of us all in the long run in terms of improving atmosphere, etc.
Id rather they continue to put peoples nose out of joint than continue with what was happening before they made a stand, ie fuck all. so pop that in ya pipe and smoke it dog.

get over yourself will ya! Liverpool fc, based in liverpool, from liverpool, should have a liverpool based voice and if rtk gives us that, then fair play, if it puts a few noses out of joint in the process, through failure to comprehend what they are trying to acheive, then so fuckin what.
The 'get the woolies out the kop' stuff from away games of the last few yrs by the young scouse wanna be urchin types was a reaction to what alot of people viewed as a loss of our traditional values and what made liverpool fc unique IMO and RTK are challenging these things in a positive manner, rather than trying to drive a wedge between our support which was in danger of happening
the block 1892 idea is a great idea endorsed by the club so instead of being so negative, at least give it a chance. All this back biting is getting rather pathetic and whilst i dont agree with getting preached to as well, im willing to listen to what i view are the positive suggestions being put forward by RTK.

For the record mate, if you don't like OOT support, go and support Everton, nobody is forcing you to support Liverpool.

Re: RTK Area – Information for Season Ticket and Fan Card Holders
Just a few things:
There has been accusations on here at the tail end of the thread that we (RTK) do not speak on behalf of everyone. We know that and accept that. But we have a group of lads behind RTK that represent a decent mix of fans from all ages, mostly scouse, a few from out of town, one foreign lad and all match going regulars for most of their lives. We're also in touch with well respected and well known fans on a regular basis to gauge their opinions on matters.
We've also hosted a Question and Answer session with Rick Parry, and the invite went out on this forum as well as the other main ones, asking anyone that had a question for Rick Parry and the club in general, get in touch and you'll be invited along to the session.
40 people outside of the RTK attended that Q&A session, you were all offered the chance.
The meetings RTK have with the club have involved lengthy discussions over issued raised by fans outside of RTK via the RTK forum. There are a few issues with that communication channel at the minute, but we are always open to ideas and suggestions from anyone. Just get in touch
mail@reclaimthekop.co.uk or nextyear@reclaimthekop.co.uk
It's been repeated time and time again, anyone that has an issue can either contact us directly via e-mail, or arrange to meet us in person and discuss any issues.
It's not a closed shop - but regarding discussions with the club, it would not be practical to have 40 people sat around a table in debate. It wouldn't work. Instead we try and take on as many views and issues as possible, then have 4 or 5 people sat around a table and discussing these issues with the club.
All this is then reported back out to the forums to keep everyone in the loop of what is happening. Newsletters are sent out to the RTK mailing list available on the RTK site.
What more can we do to involve people and ask for their ideas and input?
And once again - we asked for the section to remain nameless, the club requested and insisted on the name for ticketing purposes. So naming a section of the ground after ourselves is wide of the mark. RTK Area now becomes Block 1892 says that. We'd personally prefer it left at blocks 304, 305 and 306.
So again - anyone with issues, ideas, suggestions, get in touch.

Why did nobody ask Parry about how all the tickets are ending up in the hands of the tour operators and touts? I would have thought that was a pretty pertinent question and it was raised by people before the meeting.

Not all of the questions were asked due to time constraints.
Most of the time was taken up with pressing issues surrounding the events of Athens.
You were more than welcome to ask that question yourself (or submit that question at least)
We do know that the club are actively seeking to replace the current paper match tickets with a purely electronic access system, crediting fancards with access for certain games instead of issuing an individual ticket.
This will make it a lot harder for touts and agencies to sell tickets, as they will not recieve the fancard back from the person buying it.
It's something we can question the club on in detail at a later date, whether that be through a further Q&A session, or sat around a table again. But in recent weeks and months most of the focus has been surrounding the organisation around the new block, and the athens debate at the Q&A session.

I'd say it was the issue at the heart of the Athens debacle but thanks for answering my question.

For the record, ive already said OOT are welcome to come to our city and support our club if they so wish wherever they are from, as Ive said, I regard loads of OOT fans ive met over the years at games as good mates and boss reds. They wont get a hard time from me unless they disrespect our city or its people by taking the pi_ss.
Attitudes like someone else mentioned like, 'I like liverpool but hate the city' are not on, and these people may very well get called a wool or told to fuck off back to where they come from if they dont like it as far as im concerned. When dog come up with his 'localist bullshit' stuff, he came across as one of these people so I called him a wool. I was wrong hes not a wool, he is very condescending though.
Liverpool FC is representative of its city, and are great ambassadors for the area and its people and a great source of pride, and I see nothing wrong with attempting to maintain our uniqueness and traditions at the match. Im not in favour of preaching what people can wear or sing, or what they put on a banner, but education as to what liverpool is all about is ok as far as im concerned.
Block 1892 should not be purely scouse as far as im concerned and I hope passionate reds from all over the country will apply to get in there and crank things up in the shitty midweek games, etc.

What if you're a scouser who hates the city?
