Josh W is an unknown quantity
Re: Rafa's Success

Have we improved from last year? I say no.

We bought Pennant to improve on the right side i.e. allow Gerrard to play in the centre and be an able improvement on Garcia - THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.

We bought Pennant to improve on the right side i.e. be an able improvement on Kewell - THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.

We bought Kuyt and Bellamy to improve the forward line i.e. score more goals than Morientes and Crouch- THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.

We bought Aurelio to improve on the left hand side i.e. be an able improvement on Riise - THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.

Rafa has more players, in a rotation system that dictates that players are of similiar ability - he has that but it hasn't worked in the league.

Rafa is no nearer to winning the league than Evan and Houllier were and I blame his obsession with quantity over quality. For this reason we can say that last season's transfers have been a disaster when you look at how strong our position was last May.

I think you might find that they have already scored more.

We signed Pennant because we diddnt have the funds to sign Alves
We signed Bellamy and Kuyt because Barros and Cisse and Nando didnt do it in the years prior and they where the best we could get with the limited funds available
Aurelio was a player Rafa knew all about and could cover leftback for nothing we paid up his contract with the southamerican club he signed a pre contract with and a little bit on top
Rotation system I may be wrong but i think Rafa has played the same team twice in 100 and odd games and people only moan about it when we lose

Aurelio has demonstrated he is better than Riise at left back, even in that small handful of games he has played. I need not go into Riise's form this season as it has already been discussed in depth on here before.

Rafa had no choice with the quantity over quality, he was sensible and not blowing his full transfer budget on one or two players.

You do spout some crazy shit, as we all do, however you seem to be doing it a lot lately.

I do not understand why everybody comes out and moan and whinge when we lose, and when we win there is hardly a doom monger about. It pisses me off being on here after we have lost, as there is some real idiotic comments from some people on here.

Re: Rafa's Success

When I first clicked open this thread I thought it was going to be about praising a European Cup win, an FA Cup win, consistent Champions League qualification and Super Cup and Community Shield wins in little over two years. That's pretty successful, no?

At last a bit of positivity. People will all too quickly forget these triumphs in the face of defeat.

Agreed Dirk... that is quite the run for my money. To the others credit, it is much easier to be the couch manager and criticize rather than to give praise for some pretty incredible feats.

Looking at what has been posted i also feel the Rafa is trying to set up the squad so that he can go out and get that big signing we crave. What good is a prolific scorer if we cant get him the ball. With that said, pennant surely is not the answer and I think Gerrard will quickly find himself back on the right side more and more

Very good.

No, I meant he could chest it down from above the opposing centre half's head into Bellamy's path.*
