Carra Week
From the offal for those who might not have seen it. Sorry if it's been posted but i hadn't seen it anywhere on here so
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drill...70122-1418.htm
Post your first Carra Memories here. i first came across jamie in a feature in the old official Liverpool mag who did a feature on him when he was 18 who knew then that he would still be here 10 years on and with a great collection of winners medals to boot. especially after that ill fated game against the mancs when he scored 2 own goals and was pilloried for years as not being good enough.
I remember having to defend Carra with Carra like ability against some of the comments fellow reds made about him.
so what did people here honestly think about JC in his first few years as he's gone from being on the front page of the red tops for indiscretions at Christmas parties to the beacon of what playing for this club is about. discuss

When you need someone to stand up, he's always there to do it. Legend.

Re: Carra Week
I always thought carra was a decent 'steady' player but when I first really started appreciated him was the lpool v newcastle game in the cup when cheyrou scored twice. It was his first game back after his broken leg and i think he was left back but i just noticed how solid he was and from there i now love him like a brother !!

Re: Carra Week
I am a great believer in 'what you see is what you get' when it comes to footballers. Carra looks the solid dependable type, the sort you could leave to look after your prize assets, un like Robben or Ronaldo ect

Re: Carra Week
First Carra memory was his interview on MOTD after he scored a header, think it was his league debut.

Re: Carra Week
Whenever I see the bad side of football, chelsea, a$hley cole, sky, andy gray etc. I only have to think of Carra and he restores my faith. While we have a player like him we will be truly rich.

But Bascombe's such a cunt like that prententious Tomkins-fella! How dare they make a living writing about LFC and not being right 110% of the time?!

Re: Carra Week
By any definition, Carra is a Liverpool legend. I remember defending him on here against people who wanted shut or said/implied he wasn't good enough. Their silence is now deafening.

Re: Carra Week
Have a look at this. It's taken from the online diary of a little girl from Liverpool who's battling cancer. No surprise that Carra has shown his support.
If anyone else wants to support baby Emma just have a look at www.babyemma.co.uk
Monday 22nd January
Morning everyone,
I was back in hospital yesterday for Round 6 of chemo. I had to be at the hospital at 12pm. I had a great nights sleep and woke up at 10am. Am feeling great but I still have a little cough and snotty nose. Am stuck in a isolation room for 4 days because of this cough this is so other children don't catch it off me. Mummy and Daddy are doing there best to keep me happy. Daddy made a "den" for us out of the sheets from the bed. Me and Daddy hid under the sheets and Mummy couldn't find us hehehe and then we jumped out and scared her.
Am stuck in my bed for 4 days now but Mummy and Daddy have made it feel like home for me.
I have bruised on my legs and look pale today. The Doctors have done a blood count and all of them are low so it looks like I will be having my 5th Blood Transfusion in the next few days.
A big Thank you to Jamie Carragher for the items you donated. I have been told you and your wife read my diary so a big hello to both of you. These items will raise loads of money for the appeal. Thank you so much

Re: Carra Week
Saw Carra play for Liverpool in pre-season summer of 96. He came on as a sub against Dundalk in a friendly.
I dismissed him as a token Irish kid who'd never make it.
Could not have been more wrong.

In defence of those who thought he might not make the grade as a first-team regular (well, me anyway), a lot of us formed that opinion after his performances at full-back. But of course, he's not a full-back, and his performances there showed that he could do a job there, and nothing more.
Once he was moved into the centre, it was soon obvious that he was a class act. And I don't think it was his defensive ability that was ever in doubt, but his lack of attacking prowess. Obviously at full-back that's a bit more of a weakness.

What michael owen says about jamie sums him up. He would do anything for us.
