Is Anderson ready for the step up to first team action? I've seen little to nothing of him so I couldn't say. I will say that people's answers to a poor run is always to 'give youth a chance' and it's hardly ever the right answer in most cases. Playing with this team in the form they're in and with some of our supporters at their most rabid, it could shatter confidence.

It does smack a bit of a panic buy, like we just got him because we were desperate. I'm never fond of players signing just before the deadline (can't remember how close it was to window shutting but sure it was close). Everton signed Van der Meyde on deadline day and he's been a disaster, apologies for the comparison with that lot.

I want the guy to succeed here but his confidence looks at zero.
