Who needs Panorama?

I wrote an article for the fanzine in late 2003 about agents and named Big Sam's son amongst the suspicious agents.

Why was I suspicious of him?

Panorama were well out of order to imply we attepted to tap up the Boro kid.The kids agent contacted the club, they instigated the meeting, they raised the subject of his availability and we show a natural interest in a talented youngster. Thats not tapping up a player, thats a typical agent drumming up interest in the possibility of the kids availability so as to tempt a move which the agent will benefit from. I would expect the club to seek a full apology from the BBC for the attempted slurr.

In a perfect world the two liverpool fellas i guess should of said sorry but that lads under contract. But in a room with 4 fellas I guess your not thinking there's a camera in that guys belt. It seemed pretty much an every day chat.

I don't know the legality of an agent talking about a player and an agent touting a player under contract. But if your talking about him then your touting him, which is illegal.

i'm sorry but apart from the alardyce shit with his son nothing in that programme would ever stand up in court. i believe it should be clamped down on but it seemed to me that panorama have just brought the hype and nothing else.

I haven't, the PC I had it saved on is now dead. It was published in the fanzine around autumn or winter 2003 entitled "Agents-are they screwing the clubs, the players, the fans or all three".

Dave may have a copy or DT, as it was also published in the Danish fanzine.

I didn't make any prediction about Josemi, contrary to popular belief. But let's not allow the truth to get in the way of a good story.

I remember the article in question - it was a good read if I recall correctly.

I also remember the Josemi prediction as well though...
