Kaka just signed a new contract with them but has a clause to say he can leave for a certain amount if they are relegated. All will be revealed the week after the WC Final.
Juventus and Milan have very very powerful owners, I cannot see them being relegated.

That doesn't surprise me.
I can see them being relegated. Especially Juve.

Re: Torres
Would anyone spend whatever we might spend on Kuyt, PLUS throw in Garcia, in order to sign Torres?
FWIW if we strengthen the flanks with specialist wingers I cannot see a big role for Luis at Liverpool, especially if we sign another striker in addition to Bellamy, Fowler and Crouch.
On that basis, I would pay whatever we might pay for Kuyt, plus part-ex Garcia in order to sign Torres.

I’m expecting the individuals involved to get punished, the club directors and the referees who took the bribes will probably get jail/fines, but nothing will happen to the clubs.
As with the doping thing at Juventus the doctor involved got the full whammy but the players and club got let off as it was just the actions of an individual they could prove, not that it was institutionalised.

He has all the attributes required to be a top player Dave - except he plays for Athletico! Think he would do well here...

I don't.
I think he's good, but overhyped and well overpriced. He's worth £12m tops I reckon. I hope the mancs sign him for £20m+ because he won't be as good as the horse was for them.

In fairness to the Mancs - barring that twat Villareal they have hardly put a foot wrong where striker signings are concerned.

You're joking, £20m for Torres is a joke, and not a very funny one. The Spanish would have done better in taking Morientes to the World Cup. Either way, we aint the money and Rafa aint interested.

That twat at Villareal? What, the guy who in his first season after leaving Man Yoo was the second highest scorer in the Spanish league? Perhaps he's not shit, he just wasn't played correctly at Manchester United?

No he was shit at Man U, no bones about it. Doesn't mean he's a shit player, but he just plain didn't adapt to the prem. Missed loads of chances and his confidence was shot. Them's the risks you take with strikers though, confidence and form are more inextricably linked than with other players.

Re: Torres
Torres is good but definitely over-rated. When the chips were down the other night against the French, what did he do?
For twenty odd million, you'd like to think a player would produce the goods when it really matters.
