That type if pass from Joaquin was being played in by Ramos and Pernia all night and resulting in nothing. The 'dummy' made it into a good pass and also created the goal.

Who was the 'dummy' by?

Torres dummied it and Fabergas hit it then Raul chased it in. All three can pat themselves on the back.

"I had a great game today dad I beat seven men in one go!"

"How did you do that then son, what with you being a keeper and all?"

"I took a really long goal kick that went past them"

"Well done son you're now officially worth millions"

Re: Torres

decent prospect but still way way overrated. i mean can somebody tell me what the kid has actually done to be worth £25 million all of a sudden? if he was that good, barcelona or real madrid would have already snapped him up.

from what i've seen of him he's unbelievably good one minute and unbelievably poor the next. and whatever anyone says, he's not a prolific goalscorer. imo, david villa would be a far more suited player to premiership football.

Totally agreed - their day isn't often enough. Joaquin in particular is guilty of this. He's 24 now and he should have levelled out. He's not become the player everyone though. To be fair to Torres he still has time and does look capable of the next level.

Torres is well out of our price range unfortunatly. I fear he may end up at United, i hope not though.

Torres has been out of reach ever since he was born. Where would you expect the £20m to come from? (pre-WC) and now probably £25++m. A lot of energy is wasted discussing on this young fella who everyone thinks is twice the player he was before the WC just because some putas in BBC are belching praise for him everytime he touches the ball.

And for Joaquin, yes he's good and all that but he'll also fuck up our budget as well. We're looking for more signings along the lines of Xabi Alonso, that means no overrated 'big name' type of player.

Gonzalez/F.Aurelio/Bellamy in so far, that's a pretty good start (don't know anything about Paletta)

Nevertheless, they're not big names, but they are quality.

Re: Torres

Well, I'm going to go against the trend and say I reckon he's been garbage in both games.

He may have scored 3 goals, but one was a (poor) pen and the other 2 were due to lucky deflections off his standing leg.

I've only seen him play twice so he may be better than this, but I can't see anything special at all.

Re: Torres

Joaquin was good when he came on. I think people are ragging on him a bit purely because Rashid rates him. I think he's a bit overrated myself, but he's still a good player, and he changed the game last night.

Re: Torres

Torres looks to be a good player but the fee would be prohibitive. He is also not a 'sure thing' in terms of being a hit in the Prem. If he does come to the Prem he will probably do well, but the £20M+ is too much of a gamble IMO.

I like it when we buy good players and make them even better, or when we find unheralded players and then put them on a bigger stage to shine.

Kuyt and Bellamy will more than do for me, if indeed that's the way it pans out.

Re: Torres

The papers are full of news that Manchester United is very close to signing Torres for £25M (awaits Tim to come along and inform us of immediate financial meltdown at Old Trafford). However, Chelsea have chased him for the past 3 years and are said to be unwilling to allow a key rival such as United steal a march on Torres.

So Roman buying just to stop others getting a player he doesn't need?
