Martin O'Neill
Anyone been watching him doing the BBC punditry? I don't particularly like him but he's got a dry sense of humour and has been making me laugh today.
In a totally opposite way to Ian Wright, who has to be the most unaccomplished pundit i've ever had the displeasure to watch. He adds nothing to the football debate, just sits there all over-excited not caring about anyone but England.
He's a prick, but O'Neill rules.

Re: Martin O'Neill
I've never been impressed by the style of play O'Neill's teams have adopted, but he does appear to be an intelligent bloke. Which is in massive contrast to the sugar rush, hyperactive, attention deficient fuckwit that is Ian Wright.

I'm sure Wright is a xenophobic gaffe waiting to happen.

Me either, but i'm trying to judge him on is punditry and entertainment value and so far he's been good I think.
Why they persist with Wright I just don't know - he isn't funny or insightful so they should bin him.

Re: Martin O'Neill
Ian Wright is paid fortunes of tax payers money to give expert views and insights and then turns around and says he won`t comment on other teams as he only cares about england.
Fucking Grade A knobhead.

Re: Martin O'Neill
That twat Wrong said Germany were unimpressive!
Sure thing, they scored four goals, two of them spectacular, whereas ing-ur-land got a lucky og and then did sod all else against a poor team.
Oh hang on, sorry, I forgot, they brought Owen Hargreaves on.

Re: Martin O'Neill
I like him and it'll be interesting to see what he does when the next big Premiership job comes up - possibly at United.

Re: Martin O'Neill
He seems to lose track of his thoughts quite a bit, but he's a lot better than Ian Wright.

Because they've already paid him a wedge for a big long contract and need to justify it. They though he was the future of saturday evening entertainment remember...the new improved Dale Winton.
O'Neill is ace. Seems to offer interesting opinions and also quite sharp humour. Would have liked to see what he did with his re-working of Stairway to heaven too.

To be fair I was highly unimpressed by Germany. If the back four and defensive midfielder play like that then the first decent team they meet will fuck them into the next century.

Re: Martin O'Neill
O'Neill was quality back in 98. I remember him saying to Robbie Williams(special studio guest) 'Can I just say I think you've done well since leaving Take That. I thougt you'd made a big error quiting the band but fair play, you've done alright.'
He's a always been entertaining.

Re: Martin O'Neill
I like O'Neill. Remains to be seen how he would do with a top side but he sure nows how to get average players playing above themselves. I think O'Neills enthusiasm is a good foil for Hansen.
Gordon Strachan's on now - should be entertaining

Re: Martin O'Neill
I know that Germany weren't the best at the back, but they weren't depending on somebody else to score their goals for them.
