My view on Chelsea
I've never really liked Chelsea. Ever since they used to park cars behind the goal. Anyone old enough to remember that will know what I mean. Behind each goal there was a car park! And they used to be sponsored by Commodore! They're my two earliest memories of Chelsea growing up as a kid.

At the time Liverpool were running away with the title, and my first real moment of becoming aware of them was the 85/86 season, when King Kenny scored the goal the goal that secured the title at Stamford Bridge. I was only 7 at the time and living in a family of blues (me arl fella and bro are both season ticket holders) it made it all the sweeter at such a young age. Don't be fooled, I was never an Evertonian. My uncle (who's about 10 years older than me) used to babysit me loads when I was growing up because my parents worked shifts. He was always there when I woke up or coming back from school and was always wiping up after me, in more ways than one! Ahem. He bought me my first Liverpool kit at 3 years of age and I was hooked. Cheers Ant!

Anyway, back to Chelsea. I remember them going down for a year or two at the end of the eighties, beginning of the nineties, and if anyone had predicted where they would be 15 years later you'd laugh in their face. Unfortunately some baby faced Russian was just making his 200th million!

When they came back up, they never bothered me. Sure, they always gave us a game but that was about it. It wasn't until the mid nineties they started to become a bit of a danger. Liverpool, under the management of Souness in particular, were now been given some serious tests. But we'd still usually come out on top. I only ever looked out for Chelsea's results when they played the Mancs, as they became a bit of a bogey team for them at the time. I always remember the quaffed Gavin Peacock turning away in celebration on a few occassions!

Then Hoddle left. In came Ruud Gullit as manager with his 'sexshy football' and a host of foreigners came to the club. First was Vialli, who was always class, and under both their tenure's arrived Lebouf, Zola, Di Matteo, Hughes, Desailly, Deschamps, and a host of other world class (okay you may not think it but look at each individuals success as a player and it's pretty impressive) players. They were now becoming a serious threat. The car park pitch had left, Chelsea Village was in development and Ken Bates was forever in the press harping on about his team.

Still, at this moment in time they were still not hated by me. The only player I despised at the club was Frank Lebouf, and that was only because of a comment on They Think It's All Over. Everytime someone took the mick out of him he would reply, "I don't care, I won the World Cup". The first insight to their arrogance. But still, I found time to watch them and appreciate their football. They were a good side admittedly, and a threat to Liverpool but they still had that little bit of respect.

Fast forward to 2003. Chelsea are dubbed Chelski as Mr Abramovich pumps his billions into the club. At the time I was thinking, "So what? They still have to build a team capable of toppling Arsenal and Man Utd" I'll admit, Liverpool at that time were only probably on par with them. Then the money started to be flung about. I still never hated them. One reason really.

Claudio Ranieri. I loved the man. He was humble. He had joined Chelsea in 2001 and couldn't speak a word of English. By the time he was dreadfully sacked by the despicable Peter Kenyon I would have applauded Ranieri if he gave a right hook to that slimeball.

That was the moment it changed for me. Ranieri loved his football. He made his team play in an attractive, attacking style. And they were FAIR!!

Kenyon had been poached from Man Utd, and they were looking for Ranieri's replacement. What really got me at the time was that Ranieri was fighting for the league and had got Chelsea through to the semi final of the UEFA Champions League. But during the season Chelsea were openly looking for his replacement. It was diabolical management of Kenyon and Roman. We knew for months that they'd been after Sven, we'd seen the pictures! They were doing it in broad daylight and under the noses of everyone, including their manager and The FA!

In comes Mourinho. I'd never heard of him before they won the Champions League. Even when he won the UEFA Cup I never had a clue. The first indication of his existence was when he ran down the line at OT celebrating. That was funny. But if it had been done at Anfield we'd have gone off our heads, wouldn't we?

So here he was. The self proclaimed Special One. Within minutes of his arrival he had set the tone. He retracted his Special One claim earlier this season but it was too late. In came Drogba, Duff, SWP, Essien, Carvalho, Ferreira and Del Horno. All for ludicrously stupid money.

Last season they won the league. Fair and square. I have no arguments. I don't even have a problem with the way they won it, but that John Terry has got a face you'd never get tired of slapping. It all got worse for me in Cardiff.

Ssshhhh! Ouch. That really hurt. The Special One claimed it was to the press, and even the press realised that it was to the Liverpool supporters. I can't believe that a manager of such a great team would stoop to such a level. Yes, we're all passionate, especially the supporters, but players and management know that the best way to hurt the opposition is to win the game. That was the moment where I sat there and realised just how much anger the Man Utd supporters must have had when he ran down the line. Mourinho wasn't funny any more. Why? Because now I knew what it was like to be on the end of his arrogance. And not just his. His teams, his chief executives and his owners.

Then came Barcelona in the Champions League quarter final. That man, and that teams pressure caused another man to give the game up. There's no excuse for that. Anders Frisk recieved death threats. For what? Sending off a player who he thought deserved two yellows. Mourinho made no friends with Rijkaard either, after claiming the Barcelona boss entered the referee's changing room at half time. Could he back this up? No. He has since changed his story several times from that night. Chelsea then claimed they were victims of UEFA.

Anfield. Champions League semi final. Having travelled to London and felt the arrogance of the team transfer to the supporters I had yet another reason to put them in the same category as Manchester United, Leeds and Birmingham. (Anyone's whose travelled to these places will know what I'm talking about.) Eidur Gudjonson had taken a dive to give Alonso a booking for the return leg. Xabi hadn't been back long, after Lampard had broken his ankle. This was in response to Alonso running the show in the league game earlier that season. If you can't beat him, break him, seemed to be the motto that day. The referee joined in too, but not giving the most blatant penalty never given at Anfield.

But this was our night of destiny. But was it a goal? Mr Mourinho thought not. He's told us enough times. Even though the referee gave it, the linesman gave it and the record books recorded it, apparently that does not register in his mind. Sssshhh Mr Mourinho, nobody is listening! Bile, cramps, wobbling legs, swearing at everything that moved towards our goal, cotton mouth, clenched fists. And that was just me. The sight of Terry crying as he was walking off the pitch will remain with me forever. He may win 10 championships and 5 European Cups in his career, but that night, he was reduced to being a small boy.

We won the Champions League and it's a prosperous summer. Or is it? Of course it isn't when Chelsea are in town! What could they do to hurt us more? I know. Go in for Gerrard for a second time. But this time it was close. Effigies of Steven Gerrard were burned outside the training ground. This for me was the most stupid thing anybody could do. I've seen the pictures on tv and it looked like a gang of kids hoping for their minutes of fame. It wouldn't surprise me if the press supplied them with the petrol and matches. But is this what Roman's millions had reduced us to? Hating one of us? A local lad, whose come through the ranks, captained the club and carried the European Cup aloft only weeks earlier. Now leaving the club.

He was gone. I was in work getting emails from Chelsea and Everton supporters of Gerrard in a mocked up Chelsea shirt. It was sickening. Then I heard it. A whisper at first, then a text message from my arl fella calling Gerrard a two faced wotsit. I didn't care, he was staying. Cue Mourinho. "Lets compare medals in ten years time and see who is sorry then." was his reply to Steven's snub. Normally it's the "We would've loved to have signed the lad but his heart is still in Liverpool". No. More arrogance. And the hatred is intense now.

That never stopped Kenyon. He was spotted out with Ferdinand which was passed off as a chance meeting. They were however more sternly reprimanded when it came to Ashley Cole, but that will never stop them. Tapping up is an unfortunate part of football (think Liverpool and Ziege), but Chelsea do not care just how obvious it is. The FA will fine them £100,000 but what's that to them? Pocket money. The only way it can be stopped is by docking points.

This season has seen them become more and more hated. In the Anfield league game, yet another penalty was denied, and Chelsea ended up 4-1 winners. Enough reason to hate them in my book. Then there was the Champions League game at Stamford Bridge. Didi Hamman's leg BENT BACKWARDS from Essien's challenge. It should have been a straight red, but he was let off lightly He could have ended Didi's career. What was Mourinho's response? "We're being victimised!" Yes Jose, that tackle was obviously Hamman's fault. What right did he have to go for the ball fairly?

They've come under scrutiny for diving, and Drogba admitted he did dive. HE ADMITTED IT! He later retracted this but at the time that he said it you could see his arrogance coming though. "Sometimes I stay up, sometimes I go down." Dear God! What have The FA done about it? I'll leave you to guess that one.

This all sounds sour from my point of view, having just read it all back to myself. But one thing sticks in my mind. My dad, the most staunch blue I've ever met, who I remember dancing down the street drunk when he got home from Rotterdam after Everton's 3-1 victory over Rapid Vienna in 1985. My dad, the same man who went to bed when Liverpool made it 3-3 in Istanbul. My dad, has said time and time again that when Liverpool were the Kings of Europe, never mind billionnaire invested, manufactured soon to be twice premier league champions, but when WE were Kings of Europe winning title after title, he could never hate the club. Why? Because Liverpool played football, showed humility and never showed any arrogance or looked down upon those they have beaten.

Tomorrow, Liverpool have the chance to show Chelsea we are back. And we want our righful place as the best team in the country.

Chelsea what can you can say about them? Cheating mother *******, no respect,no dignity, cant fcuking stand them.This game is not just a semi final,this is fcuking war.

Words cant describe how much i hate them from the chairmen ,to the manager to drogba and the rest in between.

We have had a good season,improved in the premiership, but to knock them cocky fcukers out for me would make it a great season.

I hope mauren has his excuses ready cause he is going to need them.

I was watching SSN this morning and Chelsea wheere on for the build up fro today's game, it had a clip of them training and I sat and watched Drogba get tackled ever solightly by Huth, and he went down and stayed down for ages and Huth just walked over and pretended to stomp him in the face. I just couldn't believe my eyes, he fucking cheats in training too, and Maureen lets him get away with it, pity Huth didn't Stomp him proper or kick him John Hartson on Eyal berkovic style , that would have made my day.
