Liverpool's forwards attack

Liverpool's attacking line have come out fighting ahead of their FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea, claiming The Blues are no longer invincible.

Striker Fernando Morientes and attacking midfielder Luis Garcia will both be hoping for a start in the showdown at Old Trafford, and the mind games have already started.

"I think Chelsea were a much harder outfit to beat when they were winning easily," Morientes told The Sun.

"But now the season is catching up with them. They don't have that invincible air about them any more," he said.

Meanwhile, fellow Spaniard Garcia, who scored the decisive goal of the UEFA Champions League victory over The Blues last season, believes the Anfield outfit will be difficult to beat.

"Liverpool always cause Chelsea problems," said the 27-year old. "Mourinho must fear us because after each game his head must really hurt.

"The semi-final is coming at the best time of the season for us.

"I don't think there is a big difference between the two teams," he said.

Chelsea won in the last league game between the sides in February. Goals from William Gallas and Hernan Crespo secured the 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge for the Londoners.

I just wish they would shut the fuck up an do it on the pitch instead.

Me too. It's fine for us to say stuff like this, but the players should be very careful of talking the talk - especially after the last time they did it.

Come again?

Oh the sun... that's bollocks. They always claim to have exclusives when in actuality it's from press association quotes.

Jose and his millions stand between us and the final – can we beat them?

Of course we can. I think Chelsea were a much harder outfit to beat earlier in the season when they were winning games with plenty to spare. Both in defence and in attack they were playing very well but now maybe the events of the season are catching up with them a little bit and they haven't always been winning games with as much ease. They've dropped points over the past few weeks and so don't have that invincible air about them anymore and we can take advantage of that if we perform on the day. The fact we are playing Chelsea will be a huge motivation for us to go out and perform.

Re: Liverpool's forwards attack

Why are people sniping at players thinking they are speaking to the S*n? No Liverpool player talks exclusively to them. As was mentioned above, the quotes are to the press in general, of which that rag is part of.
