One small step for LFC.....

One gian tleap for the Rafalution.

Well if one is painting a pretty picture of the season, which I accept has been difficult at times, our results compared to last season are getting better.

We drew at Spurs and lost to the Chavs last season, while beating all promoted teams (Sunderland). However we have turned losses into draws against Boro, United and Brum, and now turned a draw into a win against Blackburn. So thats 5 extra points from 7 games. If we continued to do that all season, thats an extra 27 points and a total of 85 for the season. And it just shows that while turning the odd loss to a draw, or draw to a win doesnt seem much, over the course of a season it can make a hell of a difference.

All in a week after two internationals and without either Sami or Stevie against a side that wouldnt have been affected by call ups.

It may be frustrating at times, but even the longest journey begins with a first step. Well done lads lets keep it going. And lets hope the whinging can stop and we can start appreciating the postives that are happening this season.

Re: One small step for LFC.....

We've also kept 5 clean sheets in the league already this season. In the whole of last season we kept 7. And in most of those 5 games, Reina has been nothing more than a spectator. Although he didn't impress too much in the Birmingham game...

I'm still pretty positive, but its the next 10 games or so which will prove how much we've improved. They're all games we really should be winning. There's 60 points on offer if we do the double over the bottom 10 teams, they're bread and butter points.

Re: One small step for LFC.....

That and the fact we won were the only positivesto be taken from the game.

The rest is just too negative to bear.

We were without doubt truly awful, our worst performance of the season by some distance. A win's a win but that's it.

I just hope the Cisse goal gives him the shot of confidence he is badly missing

outside of Reina and Carra i cant think of anyone else who had an acceptable game or above average peformance.

The players are obviously struggling to come to terms with Rafa's system offensively and most of them are playing much much worse than this time last season, Riise, Traore & Garcia being good examples of this.

a 500 mile round trip to see my beloved Reds and it was so depressing, just pray that Fulham next saturday the performance level is better, but i have a horrible feeling that things wont improve much before january

so outside of 3 points, being 5 points better off from the same fixtures last and keeping a clean sheet what possibly else is there to be positive about after a performance like that. We created some chances against 10 men on the break once we had taken the lead but outside of that i cant think of any.

Got to be five fingers hasn't it ? Like the Rafa caption in the latest issue.

In my best, 'for a few dollars more' gruff mexican voice (GMV).

Paco - Hey, Gringo Hughes. We got it five times, what you gonna do ?

As Paco whips his horse either side, it rears up and paco gallops off into the sunset, with a cloud of dust following him. Laughing, saying ' five times' (in GMV) with his five fingers out for all to see.

Or something like that....

On a more sensible note Nick. I thought you were off the same sensible outlook as many reds.

We don't have the wide men to play his game, you said it yourself lad!

Stop being a fuckin tart and get yourself sorted!!!

Are you home for Fulham mate?

If i want to throw my toys out of the pram and do a lesley gore I will.

I've tried to be positive all season and this is the first time i have criticised the team performance (maybe not individual performances) but yesterday was just so depressing and i just cant see how things are gonna get better before January, so rather than slag me off can some of you positive people answer me that one simple question, how are things gonna get better in the premiership before january.

PS i support the team, travel miles and sing my heart out at every game I can and sometimes it does get a little depressing, but now i've pissed you off i feel a lot better and can concentrate my positive energies on Tuesday's match which we will win because its in the CL
