WHAT? That dumbass was supposed to come and get me. Bastard! He just lost his half in the worm farm.
I swear I will hunt you down in Malaga if you even hint at finding a Togo mate before the World Cup.

RRT - respect for the positivity, dude.
Nick - that wasn't like you at all. Keep it strictly "half glass full", mate.

The rest is just too negative to bear.
We were without doubt truly awful, our worst performance of the season by some distance. A win's a win but that's it.
I just hope the Cisse goal gives him the shot of confidence he is badly missing
outside of Reina and Carra i cant think of anyone else who had an acceptable game or above average peformance.
The players are obviously struggling to come to terms with Rafa's system offensively and most of them are playing much much worse than this time last season, Riise, Traore & Garcia being good examples of this.
a 500 mile round trip to see my beloved Reds and it was so depressing, just pray that Fulham next saturday the performance level is better, but i have a horrible feeling that things wont improve much before january
|
The bit about nobody having an acceptable performance bar Carra and Reina, Alonso played probably his best game for us this season. Momo was of his ever-consistant class and Zenden played his best game for us as of yet.
We've played better football obviously, anyone can tell you that. Be patient and the football we are capable of will come in due course. For now, as posts previous explain and compare this seasons statistics to those of last seasons, take as positives.
Of course we would like good performances week in and week out, along with improvements from last season. The improvements are coming and the I'm sure the performances will do.

I'll give you Alonso but not Zenden, Momo was poor first half especially over hitting a simple through ball to put cisse in on goal however he did get better as the game went on.
The thing i found depressing was the whole team play which in my opinion was the worst PL performance this season bearing in mind the quality of the opposition
Anyway ive moved on and am looking forward to a more positive performance this wednesday.
Looks like Cisse will play as the loan striker on wednesday

Bearing in mind Nick mate, we had our two most inspirational players out in Gerrard who is obviously captain and then Sami who has been previous. Two big characters in a side which is relatively new to one another. Maybe this is the reason why you think it's the worst performance as a team in the league this season?

Well if one is painting a pretty picture of the season, which I accept has been difficult at times, our results compared to last season are getting better.
We drew at Spurs and lost to the Chavs last season, while beating all promoted teams (Sunderland). However we have turned losses into draws against Boro, United and Brum, and now turned a draw into a win against Blackburn. So thats 5 extra points from 7 games. If we continued to do that all season, thats an extra 27 points and a total of 85 for the season. And it just shows that while turning the odd loss to a draw, or draw to a win doesnt seem much, over the course of a season it can make a hell of a difference.
All in a week after two internationals and without either Sami or Stevie against a side that wouldnt have been affected by call ups.
It may be frustrating at times, but even the longest journey begins with a first step. Well done lads lets keep it going. And lets hope the whinging can stop and we can start appreciating the postives that are happening this season.

I dont agree with that theory, we lost there last season so have improved this year, If its statistics your using what about the worst start in 13 years and only 8 league wins all calender year?

We're still not playing anywhere near as well as we should be. I won't be happy until we're playing with more composure and better passing - especially in the final third.

Well in, yes there's things to get vexed about but ffs it doesn't make it any better...........bigger picture glasses needed by many, start to believe that we're moving forward and dont expect instant free flowing madness circa late 80's. We're playing in a much tougher league than then, with a manger who has proved he can perform wonderful things, beeeeelieeeeeeeeeve.

Re: One small step for LFC.....
Instant free flowing football? Rafa has been here nearly a season and a half now. I would have hoped we'd be seeing a much better quality of football by now, and I don't think there's anything wrong than that. It doesn't mean you're oblivious to the bigger picture, it just means you have higher expectations.

Re: One small step for LFC.....
So just to keep us updated we've now played 10 games and here are the results ;
Middlesbrough 0 - 0 Liverpool last season L plus 1 point
Liverpool 1 - 0 Sunderland last season w -
Tottenham 0 - 0 Liverpool last season d -
Liverpool 0 - 0 Man Utd last season L plus 1 point
Birmingham 2 - 2 Liverpool last season L plus 1 point
Liverpool 1 - 4 Chelsea last season L -
Liverpool 1 - 0 Blackburn last season d plus 2 points
Fulham 2 - 0 Liverpool last season w minus 3 points
Liverpool 2 - 0 West Ham last season w -
Aston Villa 0 - 2 Liverpool last season d plus 2 points
So were 4 points up on last season after ten games. Thats an extra 12-15 points over the season, which puts us nicely on the 70ish mark where we want to be.

id be very dissappointed if we dont have plus 70 points at the end of the season, should be 36 after 19

Re: One small step for LFC.....
I hate the argument that because we have 4 pts extra now it means we will have X number of points more at the end of the season. It just doesn't work like that.
