Rick Parry interview on City before the game

Interviewer: "A lot of Liverpool supporters are clearly unhappy with Gerard Houllier. Will he still be in charge next season?"

Parry: "I'm not answering that question"

Make of it what you will. Could of course just be him sticking two fingers up to the interviewer, but who knows.......

Couldn't care less at the moment though! Get in Danny lad.

Interesting. He has studiously avoided saying Houllier will be in charge, despite all the support he's recently been offering to the manager. I think plans are in place - Parry's too shrewd for them not to be.

I think Foullier himself knows something is up, by now if things were going well everyone would be talking about who is coming in and new contracts for the manager.

The fact that Foullier has not been offered a new contract say alot for his future!!

Re: Rick Parry interview on City before the game

I personally think that there will be an extremely important Board meeting at the end of the season, where everything will be decided. If we finish 4th, I think it is fairly clear that GH will be given at least another year.

Parry can't give a certain answer to whether GH will stay or not, because if he said "Yes" and we finished 6th, then i could envisage further complications of the board having to stick to their word. etc etc.

The decision is pending, and it depends on our final league position.

If we finish below 4th, GH will go.

I honestly believe that it is as simple as that.

This whole thing is starting to remind me of May '93 when we all thought Souness was going to be sacked. As was the case then, he'll probably keep his job until a cup defeat in January signals the end.
