The day I met my hero and didn't realise it
Posted 25th June 2008 at 08:45 AM by RedinSweden
I drove to work as normal and as I was parking my car I heard a voice calling my name. I turned round to look. I didn't recognise them immediately. It appeared to be a 15/16 year old youth wearing a Liverpool shirt with a number 8 on the back. I was completely unaware that I was looking at the young lad who was to become RedinSweden. Right then he was only RedinEngland of course, but I still remember that day as if it were yesterday. It is definitely one to tell my grandchildren.
This was an interview with John Aldridge

Aldridge added: "I still smile that he'd had 'Rush' added above the number 8 on the shirt."

Similar thing happened to Rob Jones when I met him (well drove past me on Formby by pass) in 1992. Rob Jones mentioned this auspicious day in the summary of his widely discredited critique of Stephen Hawking's 'A brief history of time' called 'Rob Jones - Right back to the start of time and space.
Of course in those days I was still JW Fan Club and was actually on my way to Ipswich to stalk John Walk. |

I gave it one star but feel bad now as it was a good read.
