well, some of you know i work with women who are struggling with pregnancy related mental illnesses, the organisation i'm in was set up last November, in a bit of a rush after the one i worked for at the time folded and mum's were left without support. We, myself and 3 other women set up Mothers Voice.
Anyway, we have no money, we cant obtain charity status at present, to get funds from larger organisations and companies, we need charity status. To get that, we need a turn over of £5k minimum. So we have been working at trying make this.
I don't want to get on my soap box here, your blokes, you are here to come away from that drudgery.
We have scheduled a night in a Haunted castle on the 1st of August. I dont know how its going to work, all i have done is paid for my place, but from what i am told by the team member organising it, is we are there with a spook, sorry, medium for the hours we are there and taken around the place, i have my sleeping bag with my just in case it gets boring.
So, *bends to kiss some arses* i am asking if anyone here would care to sponsor me?
here is the link,
http://www.sponsorformsonline.co.uk/...thersvoice.asp
See, cant even use just giving until we get that status!
And this is us,
http://www.mothersvoice.org.uk/
I'll probably pop a thread up and bore the non orange folk closer to the time,
cheers for reading this.

If I know TLW your prayers won't help. good effort though. One of my friends have a corresponding job in Sweden. Sound like it's both funny and hard.

We do have our moments, hard bit is when the phone goes at 2 am and you know your going to be up until 4 or 5 am, then have to get up at 7 for the working normal day. Best bit is when a mum has recovered and she wants a re-cap visit or call, some can have you in tears or fits of laughter, as that's when the full truth about some behaviour patterns are told.
So far the sponsors have been really good. Overwhelming in some respects, I hope to raise £250 in sponsors, any more than that would be a bonus! Its an illness that affects 1 in 5 women. So when you think of the women you know, and realise how many may have struggled in silence. Sherry |
