Malarkey's Memoirs.
Alright lads. This is my first blog entry so I shall put alot of thought into it, and talk about tonight's TLW Footy game which ended 14-13 to the side I was on. Luckily.
Our team consisted of Kaizer Sauze in goal, Malarkey playing Centre half, Gayer Left back, Woo-lfc right back, Evertonian Dave centre mid with Ezekiel and Dave U up front. I was nominated as captain and that was the side I chose.
We started off bright. Really bright. The first ten minutes we pushed high up, quick tempo and grabbed three goals in the first 7 or so minutes to get a nice cushioned lead. Goals from Woo-lfc and Dave U got us the lead. We were up and running.
The other team replied with a goal from Darry. Some dude who hangs around the astro turfs were we play, looking for games of football. One day we just asked him for a game because we were short of men, and now he plays every week. Anyway, back on topic, we were still controlling the game about 20 minutes in. We were strong and organised at the back and well disciplined not letting them in behind. Myself getting a good few blocks in, Ezekiel throwing in a good few challenges and GAYER too. We all worked hard.
The last half hour of the game we started to take our foot off the gas and with our considerably big lead, we got complacent. Ted started playing more high up and started picking out passes in behind. Our opponents were getting more positive and more confident. New comer Discuit was the outlet out wide and was seeing a fair bit of the ball with his clever running and was pulling our Defence everywhere trying to make gaps. That seen them get level. Not at 3-3, it was something like 8-8. I can't be arsed quoting the score every time in this blog. If I did it will mean the brief report being about ten pages long. Which I don't want to bore you with.
I scored a goal to make it 10-8 right after Dave U scored. I carried the ball out of Defence and set myself and had a crack. Discuit was taking his turn in goal for the other team. The ball went in and he made some sort of gesture with his hand as if to say the ball was moving and swerving everywhere. It was a bit of an awfully placed shot. Straight down the keeper's throat. But because I struck it cleanly it shifted in the air to the teams advantage. Happy days.
The opposite team, after my goal, got their stranglehold on the game again. Banging in 5 goals without a reply. Then the floodlights went off. Normally signalling the end of the game; but we decided to play on as the game was quality and it had stopped pissing down. In the 'injury time' we played, we bagged 3 goals to bring it even. We were pushing forward much more to find the goals we needed. Sometimes Gayer was left at the back on his own, and he defended well when one on one with a player. He had a good game. The last and best moment in the match....well, it involved a shot, Unrighteous crouching to gather the ball, the ball slipping out of his hands and over the line! 14-13!
The result was just as we deserved to win anyway.
Well in everyone who played. Everyone played well, that's what made it a great TLW Thursday night.
All in all a quality game. The best one we've had in ages in my opinion. Hope we have more like it. And I'll only be doing this kind of report in my blog the odd time because it takes the piss.

Well done Mick, you should do these every week. For me, you were man of the match, some Henchoz like blocks there, especially early on. Actually Darry ran you close for man of the match, but he was in and out the game whereas you were solid for the whole game.

We're all really shit keepers, even Andy! Actually Andy is good, and Mick isn't bad when he has a go. The rest of us are all Itandje like though.
As for the video thing, it's a boss idea. Agt Provacateur wants to come and watch us, so I'm sure he'd be happy to video it. All we need then is to get someone to do a voice over commentary, get it on youtube and away we go. The idea of my five goals being on there is appealing, but the idea of that miss being there for the world to see makes me sad. |

Well, just upload it for the ST members on TLW first. Then go from there? I don't know. It's a quality idea though. And I'm sure the rest of the forumites who cant make it to Footy every Thursday would love to see us have a kick around!

Wiiksie and Thants might even make it look professional if you ask nicely. Not the football itself, as I'm sure that looks professional anyway, given the various write-ups, but the video production.
