Question Connecting to my router

Right first off ill appologise for being a complete dumbass when it come to computers.
Ive just got my computer back from being completely "formatted" and am trying to get connected to the internet. I have windows XP and a netgear wireless router that works fine with my laptop. When i got my laptop there was like already a connection set up and just had to configure it so it linked to my internet connection. But the problem is that on my computer has no connection (like the little picture with the two computers in the taskbar). I have no idea how to set one up so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Connecting to my router

Sounds like the LAN driver is either not installed or has been disabled.

Right click on my computer, go to properties, select the hardware tab and then the 'device manager' button. If you've loads of exclimation marks the drivers haven't been installed. If all have go to network connections in control panel and make sure th Local Area Network is enabled.
